went and had a look and they are not bunk beds as we know them it is a bed raised up a little and a pull out bed underneath. while we sere there most people we met decided not to take the play station as any damage and you lose your deposit and have to pay to fix it.
just got back from caleta dorada and ds had great time. weather was bit crap but he didnt notice that. any questions feel free to ask?
hi Mary, there are two threads now open on this, can you re-post this on the one with 12 pages, just to update people on there who think that the play station is free and to let them know what happens if its pinched. Cheers x
We like everyone else was extra careful. We kept the camera on the pram and we did use the safe, although the only things of value we did take were our mobiles, travellers cheques and mp3 players. All replacable and insured.
We chose not to take any games or use them while we were there...... I went to get away from our Xbox 360.... although my hubby did have withdrawal symptoms by the end of the holiday
sorry mary - i think the two topics have been merged?! can't find it now but there was two
yes- I' m to blame for that- but it does make more sense!
thanks, thought I was going mad.. or drunk two much tonite xx
must say whilst there i felt safe at all times. i asked the reception about the burglaries when checking in and was told 'your ok they have all happened along this side' - well that was ok for me but the people who were staying along that outside fence should have been warned. halfway through i had to move as a cockroach had laid its egg and infested our apartment. in our new room the safety deposit box was not connected to anything - i must say i spent a week reporting it and waiting for maintenace man to come - in the process he nailed my bedroom window shut - but at the end of the holdiay as it was still not done they gave me a full refund. it did not made up for the worry i had everynight thinking my stuff was hidden and may be found if broken into. we had a lovely time but there was a lot of unhappy customers asking to be moved. i do understand people will moan about anything but some had very valid problems. dont want to ruin anyones holiday and the kids had a great time. i was not aware it was used so much for allocation on arrival as there was a few couple with no children - its really not the place to go if your looking for a relaxing quiet kid free holiday.
what side did you stay on Mary? We were right on the end of the complex opposite the car park where the train picks you up (near the baby pool). We reported a fence that clearly had been forced to gain entrance, and it was still the same when we left. I must admit during the day we kept popping back to check 'all was well' but I didn't feel safe at all during the night...
The kids club is great but its a bit hard to find out when its on. They also take the kids for dinner and have a Mcdonalds brought in.
The First Choice reps work really hard and are very friendly.
We went to the kids disco every night but left when the main show started as it gets very crowded and the drinks are stronger in the Irish bar!! It is slightly quieter but still good fun with a quiz or a smaller show and "play your cards right". This bar was nearer to our appartment and made it easier to get home. The complex is big.
We felt safe after taking sensible precautions but there is no obvious security as there are no gates and you can't really tell when you have left the complex and are in the shopping centre.
We only left the complex once or twice to see Caleta (10 min walk) and to go to the Netto supermarket for Duty Free.
The dining room gets quite hot but food is plentiful and is served hot. Try to sit near a window or fire exit.
i really enjoyed all the kids entertainment and its what we went for. did think it was a cheek having to pay for a lot of the club parties though - thats why we went family plus. also at the bugs bunny party there was 75 kids and just 4 young reps to look after them. but they still charged 8 euros they shoud have employed more staff.
i took all saftey precautions i could by getting a safety deposit box - but if its not connected to anything it not very safe!
the area referred by reception man as to where all the break ins have been are on the B side on the bit that runs alongside the main road. but then i didnt feel very comfortable because we were on the main road across the other side! i know what you mean - for the last week i did have it in the back of my mind would our stuff be stolen - thats not the way you want to spend your holiday!
i purposely did not write a report when i got back as did not want to ruin anyones holiday. we booked really late and so got it very cheap but spoke to people who paid over £1000 per adult - i would be really p***** off then.
also a family moved next to us. their daughter was being bitten really bad and actually and looked like she had chicken pox it was so bad. they thought it was mosquitos or ants. turned out the people in apartment b4 them had been letting all the stray cats in and feeding them on sofa. the little girl was sleeping on a cat flee infested sofa bed. but i dont blame hotel owners as they did not know.
we had a croakroach lay its egg in our apartment and so we had to move. it shocked me though that they did not fumigate it they just mopped the floor and put another family in it.
did you see the cat cafe? I can't believe how many people fed and watered the stray cats. We couldn't believe how cheeky the cats were at strolling in to your apartment, its quite funny now....and I can but smile.
i thought it was a good idea about the cat cafe and we did put some dried food and leave it for them. they would be starving otherwise. however, i think the family whose child was bitten to pieces was a casualty of this. the people b4 them had obviously been feeding them in the apartment. whilst sitting outside the irish bar i would watch the cats trying to get in to certain apartments. did you see the chipmunks - we never went looking for them unfortunately.
i can't blummin wait!! no fear of fleas/mozzies/insects here, i don't have enough blood in my alcohol stream for them to attack me
We have 2 "older" children aged 12 & 16 (OK so she thinks she is an adult but don't they all!!!! )
Does anyone know what faciities are available for teens - I know that there is a "teen area" discribed in the brochure & that they have "Wavelength" but neither of mine or into clubs - more just chilling.....by the pool......in the shade.....away from me!!!!!
Also is anyone else taking older children - we were meant to be going with friends however as theie kids are 13 & 16 they had to have 2 1 bed apartments wich took it over £5K in price....so they are off to Turkey instead.
Thanks
we originally booked a 2 bed roomed apartment with my mum and dad, it worked out ok. but since we booked before the upgrade there are now no 2 bed apartments (just kids den rooms which only sleep 5) so they had to put us in 2 one bed rooms, with no cost to us but a massive loss to them
we originally wanted 2 rooms but couldn't afford it, so we are well chuffed. (they also gave my sis a kids den room free and refunded all her room supplements that she paid as there were only 5 in a 6 bed room.)
quick questions from me..
are the ice creams in large tubs or are they individual ones?
do they do cocktails in the hotel?

The ice creams in the main restaurant are in big tubs and you help yourself. At the snack bar there are small pots of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate icecream .... they dont limit the amount you have which my 10 year old thought was 'rate good'.
They can make you a cocktail as long as you tell them what to put in it. At the start of the holiday there was a A4 piece a card with a list on but it went missing.
thank you
My 16 year old daughter nearly did not get to 16 either
