Hi Roseweb

I clicked on the link that you gave from Economy Car Hire, and would imagine they are brokers because as well as Travel Rent who you mention, they also brought up deals for Drive 4 Fun, airauto, Rentauto, National and a few others.

I think the one Glynis costed for me was with Travel Rent and that looks like the best deal for us.

PS I probably am confused as it doesn't take much.

Car rental Faro Airport

Hi
Has anyone heard of BMV car hire? We are due to fly to Faro on 5th July and have booked a people carrier for collection at the airport. However, the prices for this company seem too good to be true. They don't have a desk at the airport, they say a rep will meet you in arrivals to complete the paperwork. I'm just getting a bit worried the closer we get to going. I found their website on a google search but nobody seems to have heard of them. Can anyone help?!

Choccie, there are lots of car hire firms which dont have a desk at the airport & just use a rep. I personally havnt heard of this car hire name but am sure you will be ok. Enjoy your stay on the Algarve. Cheers Jayjan

If you look on their conditions there's a list of the amount of refundable deposit you need to make either cash or CC on pick up.

Cheapest €250.

Car rental Faro Airport

All independent car hire firms now operate from a single counter at FaroAirport.

When you exit the baggage hall, turn left, proceed 150 metres along the concourse past the cafe on your right and you will see the counter on the left opposite the Portway Handling Agent counter.

A quick public whois on the web shows that the website is in the name of:

We have also booked with them fly on 1st of july can`t see why there should be any problems fingers crossed.

I'm glad to hear of others who have booked with them. I emailed them last week to make sure everything was OK and they are telling me if I pay in cash, I won't have to pay the excess deposit, so we'll see what happens! We leave next Thursday :lol:

Slightly off topic but if anyone is looking for car rental in Montechoro area I got what I think was a pretty good deal in early June. At the top of the Strip on the left hand side, a few doors down from the Taj Mahal (opp American Diner). I think the company name was Auto Rental?? 1 week all in, A/C, no excess at all, 2 drivers, baby seat, fully comp insurance €160 (about £112)

Well a good deal for me anyway as 200yards from the Vila Petra, walked in and 10 mins later drove off in a brand new Clio! Easy to deal with as well, no checks on the car condition or fuel. Dropped the key on their desk a week later and said cheerio basically.

Faro airport and also Lisbon.

http://www.economycarhire.com excellent company, all inclusive insurance no excess. They just take credit card details for petrol in case you dont fill the tank back up to the original when you return it. Well recommended. Have a look at their website. They have reps at Faro airport and also Lisbon.

Have just used http://www.economycarrentals.com cheapest quote found, full insurance, 1 free driver and they also delivered car to the hotel. I was also able to pay the balance in cash.

Algarve Car Hire

When I've got friends coming over to the Algarve I get cars for them from algarvesun.co.uk/Algarve-car-hire. They don't have a shop/stand at the airport so you don't have to wait in a queue to get your car. Thats what I like, its quick and easy.

Have used economycarhire on numerous occasions for cars out of Faro airport (usual with the company TravelRent) never had a problem, cars are always in excellent condition and virtually new. Am going out next Friday and have looked at booking TravelRent directly as they are cheaper direct that via economycarhire. Scoya.
