Hi guys, we're getting a coach from Bristol to Cardiff bus station could anybody tell me how long it takes on the bus to get form Cardiff bus station to Cardiff airport?
Thanks

Hi CourtneeLouise .. hopefully someone will come up with the answer, but just in case you have lost track of your other post and replies:
It's a trip of around 8 miles Courtnee Louise
If the bus station you're arriving at is the central bus station adjacent to the railway station, the journey takes approximately 30 minutes according to the website I provided the link for
the previously frequent X91 service run by Cardiff Bus has been slashed, presumably in line with the number of flights being cut. That takes about 30 minutes when it runs.

the alternative is the X45 run by Est Travel but that isn't express and takes about 50 minutes. When I looked when you first asked National Express were issuing through tickets valid on the X91 but I've no idea whether they can also be used on the X45.

there is also the train service which has a station with Cardiff Airport in the name but is actually in the village of Rhoose. There's a bus shuttle to take you a few minutes up the road to the airport, the bus is free if you have a train ticket to Rhoose. Cardiff Central railway station is the same place as the Central bus station. Go to http://www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk/Timetables/ scroll down to the green one and click the dates to load it, then go to page 79
You could have bought a through train ticket from Bristol to Rhoose, £24.90 return adult with no need to book in advance. They leave Temple Meads at 08:21/09:21/10:21 change at Cardiff Central and the journey to the airport takes 2 hours. Coming back the service starts just as you land and is hourly through the day. Wouldn't matter if the plane was late because that train fare is flexible and vaild 1 month (how late could it be?).
As for the X91 being slashed, does that mean we have no option at all to take this bus? I'm starting to panic a bit now as I'm so confused about all this. Have booked National Express coach to arrive at Cardiff bus/train station at 10.20am and for it to leave Cardiff bus/train station at 8.45 when we come back.. If we can't take X91 then we're going to have to get a taxi it looks like, all these different buses/times/routes/numbers are way too confusing for my mini brain
Thanks for all your fantastic help guys, your all brilliant!

The train would have got you back to Temple Meades by 08:51, which is what time it will be by the time your coach gets past the second set of traffic lights in Cardiff!! You'll know next year won't you! Assuming there are any flights at Cardiff next year......
Are my eyes deceiving me?! Someone is travelling Westbound over the Bridge FROM Bristol TO use Cardiff Airport?!
It is pretty unusual - if Carwyn Jones finds out he might send his car to meet them and they won't need a bus!!
Don't knock it - I enjoy travelling from Cardiff - never had any problems there
I haven't flown or used Cardiff airport since 2005 , when booking a holiday Cardiff is alsways first choice of airport but flights times are always better from Bristol , living in Newport i also find it easier using public transport to get to and from Bristol easier , its also that little bit cheaper using Bristol even taking into account the bridge fees..but it would be nice to use Cardiff again .
Our home is in Bristol (approx 10 minutes from BRS) but we haven't flown from there in 8 years! Cardiff flights/holidays are £1100 BRS flights/holidays are well over £1700+ just a shame Cardiff Airport doesn't have much shops wise and no children aloud in executive lounge

***Scrap that, just went on cardiff airport actual website and it does allow children!!
I prefer Bristol airport but cardiff is much closer and we do tend to get good prices and flight times. I check out Cardiff first for destinations, flight times and prices and if I can't get what I want, then check out what Bristol has to offer
The security on the way out just seemed so OTT, it took forever!
There were a bunch of blokes going through security and they had some small liquids so they were told they had to put them in see through bags (that you can buy at the airport!) one guy had his in a resealable bag, but no that was too big he had to put his stuff in an airport bag. I am sorry, I realise we have to have security but it seems it is just another way of making us pay!
We landed in Zante, got our case and sorted the hire car and on our way in 30 minutes of landing. On the journey home we got to the airport, checked in and got rid of our luggage within 10 minutes and then walked through security, I have a defibrilator so should not go through the arch so the guy just waved me past without a hand search and the wife had a big bottle of water so she asked about it and he just waved her through aswell.
Sorry rant over but it does pee me off the way we are treated in our own country.
As for Cardiff airport I don't think we will flying from there again, it's back to Bristol or Exeter for us.
Actually I like Cardiff as I use it often on business, the fact its small and quiet appeals. Shame its losing so may routes though.
And richcoll you were lucky at Zante...one of the most chaotic aiports I've used. Queued for hours in the hot sun waiting to get checked in.
I've never been asked to buy one of their own plastic bags and I've flown loads of times from Cardiff- I just use a ziplock sandwich bag from the supermarket- it will be interesting to see if it'll pass security this year.
I do the same Shirley & haven't been challenged yet, but my bag isn't very big and I only have a couple of things in it. I have sen people challenged who have a bag full of stuff.
I see Vueling are introducing flights from next year to Barcelona. Nice to see someone taking up that route again. Wonder if anyone will take up Cardiff Faro. I was on the bmibaby flight the other week and the plane was virtually full, so I presume the route is viable.
New Cardiff to Barcelona flight
Spain's low cost airline, Vueling, is launching a new flight from Cardiff to Barcelona.
The flight will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and starts on March 27th next year.
Tickets, which are from £26, are available now via http://www.vueling.com
Vueling CEO Alex Cruz, said: "Cardiff offers convenient transits and an efficient service so we anticipate the route will be popular for leisure travellers looking for convenient city breaks.
"There is the strong possibility that more UK routes will be announced soon."
