If you booked with first choice online log into your account and check your flight details for any updates, i checked mine and they have changed the flight number and will now be flying with thomson. Same flight times so far...
I understand this is because First choice will be rebranded Thomson officialy from 1st may 09 due to them merging.
I booked over the phone with First Choice last march - not online - so I can't check it. The reason we booked with First Choice is that we went with Thomas Cook and Monarch airline in january but everyone on this forum said that the First Choice planes are much better and much more legroom.
The FCA 086/7 flight number doesn't seem to exist any more, but we haven't been notified by post. Is it Thomson planes then for whole of this season do you know? Am worried about the disabled assistance as well.
Just wonder when they will tell us anything?
it will still be the same planes but instead of first choice logo's it will now be Thomson, i wouldn't worry about it as it's just a name change and your booking will still be the same with your requirements for disabled assistance.
I usually flew with Monarch but opted for First choice because of better leg room etc.
We've never had any notification about change of airline or flight numbers either. We only found out details because we phoned to ask what was going on. We then upgraded to Premier Class and got a letter confirming the details, so far we've had two letters each with different flight numbers on them
We are going before you so I will be able to let you know before you fly out. It might be an idea to phone as well, especially as youve got disabled assistance booked and you will no doubt be anxious to know everything is ok.
We have heard that Monarch are considering cancelling their Friday Goa flights and amalgamating it with their Saturday flights. This is because of low bookings, however no decisions have been made as yet.If you go on the Manchester and Gatwick airport sites you will see that, under Friday charter flights, the only confirmed one's are First Choice.
Just had a look at the Manchester airport website, its quite worrying that Jewel in the Crown havent confirmed their Monarch flights yet, they are leaving it a little late in the day Although we are flight only booked through Travel Republic it is a Jewel in the Crown flight. I do hope nothing goes wrong we so need this holiday.
Roxey don't start me worrying we have booked our 3 week package with them in December. I thought everything was going so well, we have paid for our holiday and got our visas. Hope nothing is going to go wrong now.
I know we are due to fly out on 21st November for 3 weeks, thing is there isnt anyone you can ask really is there - I asked Travel Republic if they had heard the Friday flights were being cancelled, they said hadnt heard anything. Don't know whether to ring Jewel in the Crown and ask them. Will perhaps give Monarch a ring.
I am hoping we are safe as our holiday covers Xmas and New year and those flights are probably full, although we do fly out on the 12th which can be a quiet time.
Have just spoken to Monarch, they say havent 'heard' of any problems and as far as they are concerned flight will go out as planned. Hopefully worrying about nothing. I guess if a travel company do go down then seats would still be available on the same flight.
Ok, thanks. No news is good news so they say, although I'm not sure that rule applies these days.
It does seem to be the beginning of the season that has been affected and the later part seems to have escaped the confusion, so far. Is there still people out there that have not been told what on earth is happening?.
Latest update is that the Monarch friday flight is safe................ Until January, when they will review the situation. We were sweating as it would have caused us major problems over here.
Phew - many thanks
How much dose a two week holiday cost through a travel agent like First choose? What amenities are available in the hotel and flights?
how long is a piece of string. prices vary from brochure price to deals. i have normally paid about 4-5 hundred for a fortnight in a basic 2 star. got some great deals this year through Thomas Cook. What time of year are you looking at?
Just heard today that the Monarch Manchester, friday flight canceled from mid jan 09.
Is that definite,as i posted the other day they were thinking of cancelling it.
will be sent out in the next few days to people affected.
ok,thanks for the reply.
