Help please.

Friends just emailed to say they are booked on the Manchester flight 19th Jan. Thomas Cook
TCX 41K. Is this the flight which is now stopping to pickup passengers at Gatwick?

Don't think so, I believe it's the First Choice Flights from Manchester that have been changed to Thomson Flights which are now picking up at Gatwick so they should be OK

Absolutely right.

PS .... from what I've been told by FC, it will only be the Thursday flights from Manchester that are to stop at Gatwick for another pick-up. The Saturday flights will still be direct. As mentioned, this concerns FC/Thomsons ....... and you're with Thomas Cook ( I think thats what you said).

Best way is just to ring them directly and ask.

I think everyone will remember me saying that I wrote to Thomson/Portland about the flights for November. We are supposed to be on FCA086 departing on 27 November, but the flight has disappeared to god knows where and is not available now (all season) However there is a different flight number ToM1137 departing the same date at almost identical take offs times
Yesterday we phoned the tour operator again because they hadnt replied to our letter. We are getting nowhere fast, we havent booked flights to Gatwick because of this and we want to know what is happening.
Agent on phone advised my OH everything is ok but the flight number we are on is actually FCA1136 so the plot thickens.
On the phone he also said they had a special promotion - upgrade to Premium Class for just £99 per person. We thought that was a good deal so we have done that and everything will be confirmed in writing this week. So once we get our letter we will see what the flight number is and then we will book our travel to Gatwick (we are now considering the train, but thats another story ......)

hmmm..Darren(Dazbo5) on the Flights forum is brilliant for finding info. It might be worth posting over there.

could you clarify this for me please - we are also booked on FCA 086/087 going on 15th january from Gatwick, and as i was concerned after reading this thread i phoned First Choice yesterday to see if all was ok and she said nothing had changed and flight number still the same, but you are right as that flight is not on their website at all, so has it changed to ToM1137 and they are not going to tell us? Am so confused with this

Hi Silver Angel I think we are all a bit in the dark here its a nightmare!
I thought the flight had changed from FCA086 to ToM1137 but now the tour operator are saying the flight no is FCA1136
I am waiting on a letter this week confirming our upgrade to Premium Class so I will post again once ive received the letter and let everyone know the flight number and flight time.

We were told by first choice that BIG T small o BIG M [ToM] in the flight means you will still be traveling on a first choice aircraft, small t small o small m [tom] is a thompson flight

We are also flying out on the 15th Jan from Manchester our origanal flight No was FCA172/FCA173 it has now changed to ToM353/ToM354 , leaving Manchester at 1310 and picking up at Gatwick our flight time has increased by 2 hours each way

But out of curiosity I emailed our travel agent in Goa, as we have a return on Sri Lanka and find that our flight has changed from the Sunday to Saturday, with a free nights stop over at Colombo.
Suggest everybody checks flights, as we would have arrived at airport a day late

are you booked with First Choice or Thomson? we are booked with First Choice and our flight time is either 3pm or 3.30 so that does fit in with your flight time from manchester. have you been notified of a flight number change?
at least Gemma33 will post on here when she has found out something definite.

Is anyone flying out on 22nd November on flight TCX67K or 7th March on TCX26K from LGW - not been advised of any changes to these as yet so I am hoping these are safe (although daughters flight in November was changed from a Thursday to a Saturday).

The whole thing is confusing me ,we booked First Choice because we like
there aircraft and service.Also the fact that there check in desks are always open
(we like to get to the airport early have lunch and a couple of beers)so dumping the suitcases quickly
is a must
our flight with first choice on their web site has now changed to ToM307 and ToM 308 They told me a few weeks ago
that a little o was first choice
Iwent on the Thomsons web site the same flight is advertized as carrier Thomsonfly TOM3307 TOM3308
So we dont have a clue who we are flying with now It will be fun when thy anounce the flight at the airport half the passengers wont get up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a reply from Thomsons on Monday. Been in London all day yesterday etc and sorry just not had time to post about it.
Anyway not much to report back to everyone. In a nutshell - basically Thomson/Portland/First Choice will not commit themselves. They said our flight was still scheduled for Thursday 27 November, they didnt even comment on any flight number(s) (even although I mentioned it in my letter to them). They quoted different terms and conditions blah blah blah ie their flight times and dates are subject to change at any time And then they put a bit in the letter which I found very patronising and a bit condescending - they suggested I take out holiday insurance because if the flight is cancelled or the time and/or date is changed I can always claim any loss through my holiday insurance.
We are still waiting on our confirmation letter as we upgraded to Premier Class (only cost £99 per person) so once I get that letter I will check the flight number and departure time and post again.

I have finally received my letter from F today telling me about my flight change etc so at least I know the plane IS a First Choice one and not Thomsons
