Hello "Sun!"

We went to Marmaris last year and from what I remember there are two main areas that most of the restaurants are, they are the harbour, and long beach. Both are excellent for choice, quality and variety of food. We did try one of the smaller restaurants near the hotel but they were nowhere near as nice as the harbour and long beach. I am sure this is not the case for all of the smaller ones, but the ones we tried were not great. Would recommend Casa Bonita by the harbour near bar street, and quite liked Natalies Steak House and the Indian (which everyone knows). We ate at the hotel quite a bit as the food there was excellent and well priced. Pricewise, they normally offer an incentive to eat there (like free starter etc) and for four of us with drinks we were averaging £40-£50 per meal, which was a seafront/harbour view with a good quality food. There is so much to choose from, I am sure you will love it. Have a good time, don't forget more pictures and a review for those of us still waiting and counting the days.

I go to marmaris next week and was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is cheap to eat out? I am not going to be eating at a fancy restaurant every night as i have heard the prices will be expensive. I am just wondering if ts expensive to eat standard burgers and chips etc. :que

Hi everyone

Got back last night and had a great week, weather was fantanstic and so was the hotel. All staff were friendly, plenty going on but not pushy. Loads of sun beds you could get beds at any time of the day. If I could change anything it would be the large pool is too deep apart from the steps at either end its 1.6m deep I,m 5.6" and had to keep on my tip toes to keep my mouth above water, my daughters 10 and found it tiring and had to wear arm bands when playing water polo even though she is a good swimmer. The card system is ok but its a rip off when they wont give you any credit back thats left on your card, they must make a good profit from the money left on them.

Im trying to upload some photos, hope they work.

P.S. The piccadilly was shut half way through our week.

look forward to the pictures .
Regarding the card system , could you have more than one card linked to the same account ?
Idea is to give my 15 year old daughter her own card so she has a bit of indipendance whilst in the apartments

You can use money in the supermarket and hairdresser etc but for the bar, food, pool, arcade, table tennis etc you have to use the card system. You are given a card similar to a credit card with your room number on and you have to pre credit it with money at reception. Every time you purchase something they take your card and print off a slip with how much you have spent and you sign the slip (just like you used to do with credit cards) and the amount is debited from your balance. They give you a copy which shows how much you have spent and what your remaining balance is.

As for the piccadilly it was open when we first arrived because we looked at the menu but when we went back the next night to eat it was shut with signs up saying they had to shut suddenly.

Managed to get some photos on, they are in the upload file if anyone wants to see them.

Enjoy your hols everyone

There are four of us going to the club aida on Monday for two weeks. How much money do you think you need per day for food? That would just be for basic meals nothing too fancy for dinner. Can anyone suggest good places to eat also? :tup
