is there anyone using the forum who is in goa at the moment? if im right then i gather from this thread that bbc weather reports for goa have not been accurate..mind you im not sure how accurate the newspaper reports in goa are either (i was there for over 14 months once and the weather in the goa paper never changed from 29!)...it has never ocurred to me to pack anything warm and iv always managed with the fleece and jeans i wear on the plane should there be a cooler turn in the evenings(very rare in my experience).we arent going until the 11 feb so am hoping normal heat and humidity will be resumed.

Just returned from 2 weeks in Candolim. Don't worry, it's not that cold. It's certainly been more than hot enough for me during the day (albeit with some strong winds blowing onto the beach to cool things down a little), and although I understand from the locals that it is a little cooler than they are used to at nighttime, we still had the fan whirring round well into the small hours and I didn't bother with any bedsheets or blankets when sleeping.

No need to pack scarf and mittens.

thanks for that.. was getting a bit worried..guess im just getting greedy for some wall to wall sunshine..little wonder really living in england with the terrible summer we had and nothing but grey skies since. thinking about it, a little dip in temperature at night is no bad thing.easy to forget jusy how oppresive goan heat can get sometimes. :)

It's hotting up during the daylight hours, I got burnt legs on the beach at asvem yesterday and I never burn!!! The wind is still very strong - both day and night. Evenings are not quite so cold as they were a few days back.....I'm no longer sleeping in a T-shirt but the fan is still off at night and windows are closed. You still need a pashmina or cardigan for sitting outdoors in the evening though....well I do - think I'm just too used to the heat after living in Goa for so long!!!

Hi,
Slightly off topic, if it is cooler in the evenings, do you think there will be less mozzies about?

Yes it is still very breezy on the beach, but dont be fooled you will still burn if you do not use high factor creams, like GFF, I have slightly burnt, my face has a tingle and looks a bit redish today and I use factor 30 on face and never usually burn.
I find the cooler nights more comfortable to sleep, no fan needed, [ I havn't discarded T-shirt yet], it still beats the UK weather,
Keep Warm, :sun2

The temp seemed to drop again last night.....very cold and windy sat in the restaurant last night.....one customer (European) was sat eating dinner wearing a hooded coat!!! I put the T-shirt back on in bed last night......I need socks now too as the old tootsies are feeling the chill. It's been quite cloudy this morning but the sun has just come out and it feels HOT outside.
