morning swiss you been busy !!!!!!!! posted lots. me and hubby flying out on 14/04 to sharm staying at crowne plaza resort - have posted a few messages because we received letter from tour company stating "independent building work projects taking place adjacent to hotel - using heavy machinery therefore some noise !!!!!!!!" what level of noise i dont know thats what i am trying to find out. we are in sharm for 2 weeks my hubby dives - i dont only snorkell but i thinks that is brill dont need to go deeper. lovely morning here in south wales, not as warm as sharm though.

Lovely morning here in south Nuweiba at the mo... though very hazy.

I remember seeing a report recently about Crowne Plaza and the building work on this or another forum written by guests who had just come back and they said there was practically no disturbance.

That is the same c**p that they have always had. When I was there in March they had fewer than 20 people per night watching these shows. Admittedly they had to buy their own drinks and most of the international guests were poor Russians. But I can assure you they will not get rid of much free booze with that stuff to entertain you of an evening.
Maybe they're shrewd, they can offer AI and everyone goes out for the night to Naama Bay.

I have been to thomson today to ask them to find out if we do get spirits in our all inc for the conrad and they have said a definate yes, i asked for them to put it in writing and send me confirmation but they wouldnt!!
What they have done is quote the person who has confirmed that we do get spirits and left it on the records at thomson for me. If we wernt getting spirits i would have considered changing my holiday!!!! Cant have 2 weeks in the with just beer and wine !!!

I am waiting for them to ring me to find out if we can use the italian restaurant and if we also get free drinks in the disco.

I have asked about building work and they have said there is none and that the pool bar and beach bar will be open.

I will post as soon as they let me know anything more.

Iemailed the Conrad a while back asking what we got in AI this was there reply.

In Ai you enjoy the following:

*3 buffet meals in restaraunt,
local beer-draught, local wine, soft drinks, tea, coffe, and mineral water during lunch and dinner.

*Above drinks in the pool and beach bar from 1000hrs to 1800hrs and
in lobby bar from 1000hrs to 2300hrs.

*Snacks in the main restaraunt from 1100hrs to 1200hrs.

*Afternoon tea from 1600hrs to 1800hrs.

No mention of drinks in the disco so must have to pay also fish and Italian restaraunts must also have tp pay . I would think youd have to in the Fish one especially cant see them giving away free lobsters or tuna steaks both of which i adore .

Seems to be the norm for AI the same as ive had anywhere else being AI
so im happy with that.

On the subject of building work the pool grill and beuty salon are closed when i go. The hotel informed me in their email no guests would be inconveinenced by the building work so fingers crossed we wont be.

Still looking so forward to going counting the weeks.

Funnily enough, the first time I went to The Coral in Nuweiba, Longwoods brochure only mentioned beer and wine. I shouldn't have worried, local spirits were also included. I'm absolutely certain that the same will apply at The Conrad as with every other AI hotel in Egypt.

It was because i read the e mail that the conrad sent to you that i made thomson phone first choice to make sure that we were getting spirits in our all inc.

They have told me that first choice customers will be able to eat at the italian as part of our all inclusive as long as we reserve our table in advance. We have stayed in many hotels that if you are all inc and they have a la carte restaurants you may have one meal per week if you reserve in advance so it sounds ok to me.

Because we have stayed all inc in some hotels that did not give drinks for all inc at their discos i have asked them to check this, but they confirmed that we will be getting drinks in the disco as part of our all inc.

It seems that maybe the hotel itself may not know what its giving us !!
But as its the first time they are doing all inc maybe there were different rules for half board etc that have got mixed up.I will be interested to know the conrads reply!!!

My goodness ive had a reply already only sent him one at 4.20 today , thats what i like too see good customer service!!!
Anyway Yvonney im pleased to say spirits are included in AI by the glass.
Hadnt noticed in the last reply i got they werent mentioned but surely they couldnt have ai without spirits although Yvonney they will be locally produced spirits but who cares.

Im happy now that ive got more info. Was a bit worried when i read what caveman had to say. I think that the entertainment doesnt sound too bad from what the conrad e mailed to mazzy.

We went to the golden resort in december and the show that caveman was referring to about a dancer sounds similar to the one we had and it wasnt that boring!!! There was a lot of skill involved and there was also more dancers and some comic moments with some of them dressed up as a horse!!!! Not fantastic dont get me wrong but the entertainment sounds ok to me compared with some of the stuff ive had in the past at 4 star hotels!!!



So i will be ok for gin then ?????? I know its not international but who cares?? It tastes ok with mixers!!!!!
