Hiya Neil,
we never got bitten once if you do I would go to the chemist right next to the reception door he is superb and will give you just what the egyptian mossies don`t like! I had the tummy trouble only 24 hrs after getting there went straight to him and was fine within a couple of hours it really is worth going to him our holiday was really wonderful we saw other people taking english remidies but they don`t seem to work.
Anything else just ask.

Dos anybody know if there are any Select rooms that interconnect ?
Reply
yes some friends of ours had a connecting room for thier six kids

I e-mailed the hotel and was told they don't have any 'select' rooms that interconnect because that's what we wanted for when we go in September.
Don't know about standard interconnecting rooms though. You might be best e-mailing them.

we are going to csr in 3weeks time for the second time as it was great.
when we were there in october 06 i got bit terrible by mossies, resulting in a leg infection.
has anyone been recently and what is the mossie situation as we were told if it's to hot they dont like it it's only when the temperature drops they come out.

Tracy, could i ask a quick question please? I'm after an interconnecting room for the kids and saw that you had one too. Like you i'm getting 2 standard rooms. What is the layout like? Does it connect from inside the rooms via a door, or does it connect from a 'lobby' like area..like one front door that leads to 2 for the rooms? We go in four weeks now (can't wait) and it's the only thing i'm a little worried about. Thanks :D

We went last october 2006 and also got eaten alive.

The tablets and cream i got from the chemist dint work and was expensive.

This year I'm going to be prepared.

I am going to take cans of Raid fly and wasp killer which it says also kills mosquitoes (cheaper to take your own)

Mosquitoes plug-ins

also a tip - and far cheaper is...
Dilute half a bottle of Avons Woodland Fresh bath oil with same amount water. This is what the Australian Army use as repellent, also it is used in Florida around the mini-golf courses.

It would be interesting to hear if anyone else has heard or has used this form of DIY repellent...???

tracy37,

When we booked to go it didn't give us a choice for interconnecting rooms.
How do you get them, do you request them after booking?
Would have loved i/c rooms as got 2 boys aged 12 and 13 who will need a room of their own as we've also got a girl aged 6 who will be in with us.
We originally booked 2 standard rooms but decided to go for 2 select rooms instead as it's our 15th wedding anniversay while we're there. I e-mailed the csr, they said they don't do i/c select rooms. If I'd known they did i/c standard rooms we probably would have just kept them.

Never mind, won't stop me enjoying my holiday to the full, just wish it would hurry up and come round. Roll on 27th September.

Also, can anyone tell me where the Aqualand water aprk is in relation to the CSR.

Thanks,
Emma

the mossies where a real pain in mid may and it was hot ,the hotel supplied us with a large can of raid which did work .but the wife was bitten badly while i only had one bite (must have bad blood) the stuff from the chemist did not work on her and it was a visit to the on site doctor that sorted it out she had a injection plus tablets and cream which cost £35 u.k but was worth every penny .i would advise anyone going out there to dose up on anti- histamine well before going as this was the injection ,it will also stop prickly heat as a bonus

I have been reading all the latest posts about the mossies and am getting quite concerned.
We will be visiting the CSR for the second time in August and were also there last August, I can't recall seeing any of them first time round. Neither myself, partner or two boys were affected. :?
Can anybody tell me if Shaarawim is still at CSR, and if so would he be the best person to pm about interconnecting rooms as we have two boys of 14 and 15 with us this year as well as a 7 yr old.
Not long to go now, 9 weeks tomorrow, can't wait! :)
