Hiya Rachel.
We went during the October School Holidays last year, and the dining room never seemed over crowded.
On a evening, the non smoking part was quite busy.
We always sat in the smoking part which was quieter and actually brighter, and not that smokey.
Advise for you though is to try and sit in the same area every morning / lunch and dinner, tip the waiter (£2 which is nothing to us, but it's megga loads to the staff) and he'll look after you.
We arnt very big eaters, so on a lunch time we would go to the beach front mermaid bar and have chips / salad and a beer.
Also the poolside bbq is ok for a little nibble.
You'll have a fantastic time, we loved it.
it was a bit crowded the last week we where there but there was a awfull lot of holiday village cancellations being put in there because of the delayed h/v opening ,plus there was a lot of h/v staff training based at csr as well .
So does everyone tip the waiter? And is that £2 per day singleblondemum?
LOL, no you dont tip every day, just the once.
Firstly decide which area you like to sit in, then tip that waiter.
I suggest around the second day.
Even if you dont tip, all the staff are fantasic, and they dont expect tips.
Yes there is plenty of healthy food opptions.
They even have a healthy section.
I am very carefull with my diet, and found most evenings I ate off a salad section, which also had a vairity of egyptian dishes.
You will really enjoy.

Thanks Katy
Just got back from the csr this morn. Wow! It really is a fantastic hotel. I cant really fault it in any way. We've had a fantastic holiday. (Well apart from the flight out where we had to turn back for england 3 hours in to the flight due to hydrolic failure!!) If there are any questions i will try to answer asap.
was there enough beds around the pool
is it very busy
did you eat in naama bay
did you attend the market in old sharm
thanks in advance for your reply
As the holiday went on the sun bed thing became more an more of a problem. At first you could get a sun bed at any time of the day but during our second week people seemed to be getting up in the middle of the night and reserving beds with personal towels, t-shirts, books etc! Meaning if you were down there anytime after 8.15 - 8.30 you were going to hav to go to the beach. It didnt bother us to much because we were up at 8 every day anyway. I dont like to waste my holiday in bed!
It is getting very busy now but theres still enough tables in the dining hall to go round and you never have to wait for more than a minute or 2 for a drink.
The only place in naama bay we ate at was the hard rock cafe. The food was really nice and surprisingly quite cheap. The drinks are a little expensive though so i suppose that evens things out.
We didnt go in to old sharm ourselves but we were told by an older couple that it is quite a dirty place and they thought that there were better bargains to be had in naama bay.
Hope thats been of some help to you. If theres any more questions i'll try and get back to you.
I am confused, I thought on earlier threads that if your bed was not occupied by 10am the towel peeps would remove them.
We go in September so I will have to wait and see, if I cant get a sunbed then there appears to be a fantastic beach to occupy us.
Although, that is a reason I have booked the HV for next year and reserved a swim up room then there will be no issues surrounding sunbeds
13 weeks to go but at least HV will be up and running and their visitors will not have an impact as such on us (fngers crossed).
Glad to hear you have had a good holiday Steve

To be honest, I think if a sunbed is unoccupied for an hour it is safe to remove anything 'reserving' this... to be honest, if you had done the reserving, would you admit to it after returning from wherever expecting it to still be there!!!!!!
Regarding tipping, we tipped our pool/beach guys well, we went when the hotel first opened and there were obviously a lot of issues, but they were the most reliable, they always found a sunbed from nowehere on the beach!!!! Evenutally more beds appeared at the pool.
Well one week today we shall be at Bristol airport waiting to check in
I cannot wait, as I am feeling under the weather at the moment, so sure the sunshine will cheer me up.
it will ,your going to have a fantastic time there
12 weeks today and counting
we've just booked our third visit to the csr,we'll be spending christmas there this year.this will be our fisrt christmas away from home, has anyone stay here at christmas & did the hotel help to make it festive?thanks in advance for any replies. by the way thats about 26 weeks to go and counting
I am taking 2 children to the CSR in 5 weeks and was hoping that someone could inform me as to what is available for them throughout the day?
I have read that bottled water is only available at certain times of the day then you have to pay for it. Is ice cream available through the day?
All they do is drink water and eat ice cream or ice pops when not in the pool!!
Neil
We were there last August we got our mini bar emptied and got bottled water from the restraunt every day it was available lunch time and on an evening you could have as much as you needed,If you run out there are water dispensers around the resort though we never used them ,I prefered to nip to the room and get a fresh one.Pop corn and Ice cream is available 11am-5pm and your kids will love it.Plenty of choice of food for them mini pizza`s freshly made and even a kids buffet Just put lots of sun lotion on them any you are in for a super family holiday hope you enjoy it.
Mel.
dont worry bout water grab a few bottles each lunch time, also there are water coolers all over , you can help yourself as much as you want, you dont have to pay anytime for your drinks, remember you breakfast hall is up to 10am then after that you can have any frinks through till midnight i think may be 11 but you wont go hungry or thirdty as last post states icecream and popcorn, from miday bbq then dinner then teatime you can have cakes etc then its dinner, you will love it, we going back august this will be our second time we loved it, i promise you wont be disapointed, kids will be kept etertained by pool with fc entertainment team snorkeling great, mini motorbikes there fun, all on beach
Never been to Egypt before, only thing I'm worried about it getting funny tummy, but with all the advice on here I'm seriously hoping to avoid it. Will be straight to the pharmacy to get antenal at the first sign of anything dodgy.
Hope everyone going soonhas a fab time.
Emma
