We had to cancel our September holiday to CSR due to my son being severely burnt at work. We cancelled & have re-booked in November/December this year. Can someone please tell me:
1. Will it be warm enough to still get a tan?
2. Will we need to swim in the heated pools or are the other pools warm enough?
3. We are taking our 3 kids with us, are there likely to be other kids there at this time of year?
4. Does the entertainment still carry on through the winter months? What about the kids club?
Thanks
Nickie
My sister is wheelchair bound and is currently being encouraged by her travel agent to book a holiday at the Coaral Sea but we are having difficulting finding accurate information as to how wheelchair friendly the hotel etc is. can you please let me know what you think? Also if you have any contact information for the hotel it'd be most appreciated. Many thanks, K
The main restaurant is situated ground floor level also as well as the Mermaid restaurant, the main problem is that the reception area, shops, internet room, Italian restaurant and Irish bar are upstairs, we have been to the CSR a few times and I cannot recall them having any lifts but you could email the hotel directly to check access availability to these areas.
I will look to see if I have the address so you can email them.
Try this oriental@coralsearesorts.com.
Thank you Purrfect 1968. info much appreciated.
Judging by it's reviews alone the place sounds fantastic.
I was wondering if most people go for the 11 night stay here or (like us) do the full 14. We were debating at first as usually we are ready for home by that time but after reading how many people return to this hotel we thought we would make the most of it.
A lot of our questions have so far been answered on here, but it's nice to know you have somewhere to go to should you need to seek advice.
Oh yes 'Do you need a visa to visit outside the resort'?
Anyway hope to discuss with some more people booking for this year.
Could also do with talking to a moderator if possible also as 'google gmail' is coming up as a blank page so I can't contact the mods this way.
If you wish to talk to a Mod you can send them a pm by clicking on the pm sign at the bottom of one of their posts.

Hi doepsmc, thanks for the quick reply. I'll do that
i have just booked to go to egypt for the first time, there are two families going,we always go to cyprus but this year it was far to expensive,we have booked to go to coral sea resort in sharm, any info would be welcomed.and my son only has a five year passport,(still valid for three years)do i still need to get a ten year one for him
You can't get 10 year passports for children. We stayed at CS last June due to a holiday mess up. We should have been staying at Holiday Village( but thats a long story )
It's really nice , the rooms are huge and really clean. The staff can't do enough for you and the food was one of the best all inclusives we have had, so far. Plenty of choice. You'll not be dissapointed. It's on a really nice beach and the snorkelling is fantastic.
Feel free to ask about anything
Jo
were thinking of going to the coral sea in december for christmas. can anybody tell us if the pool, sea and evenings are warm??
thanks,
deebe 29
went to csr xmas 2006, weather good apart from the wind you will need a jacket for the evenings, the one pool is like a bath the others far to cold still had a great holiday.
sorry if this question has already been covered . a friend of mine is staying at the CSR in april and has asked me about snorkelling equipment and whether he should buy it before he goes or get it there . so the question is firstly are there any shops at the CSR and if so would they stock anything that was any good and Im also assuming there will be a dive centre on site and if so do they hire out the snorkelling equipment.
Sorry, can't remember if you could hire snorkeling gear at CSR.
Hopefully, someone who has been more recently will have more up to date info.

When we were there last August there was a shop that sold snorkerling items and looked good quality.
We took our own but on a change over days when people leave there is a table next to reps desk were people who are going home leave items like that there dont need etc like snorkels and fins.
buy the proper stuff from a decent dive shop over here and it will last for years ,buy cheepo stuff on holiday and buy again every year ,face masks really do need to be tried on before you buy to ensure a proper fit .i.e with no straps, place mask on face and breath in if it holds there on its own its the right size and won't leak if it falls off its the wrong size, .nothing more offputting than your mask filling with water
thanks Celine and blackfox . I was going to tell him to buy here before he went but wanted to double check. my family dive and have all this stuff already which we have bought in England and like you say has lasted years whereas things that we buy on holiday always end up in the bin. but I will let him know there is a shop there if he needs it .
there is a good dive shop in the main shopping precint next to the hard rock cafe in naama bay,but dont know about the prices
Tip.....before you get the mask glass wet, spit on the inside of the glass and rub the spit around the entire glassed area. This stops the mask from steaming up.
When you go snorkeling, go quite a way from the end of the pier. The coral around the end of the pier is all almost dead. Swimming further afield is well worth it.
