Can anyone tell me about the entertainment situation at the Coral Sea Resort please
We have stayed at the Coral Sea twice but that was 3 years ago.Back then everything was as the Holiday Village is now ,run by First choice teams but it seems that things might have altered according to some reviews i've read.

Hi, we stayed at Coral Sea Resort in November and the entertainment was fine. Some people slate it some people love it I was somewhere in the middle. Entertainment team aren't run by First Choice but the hotel and they are the friendliest bunch I have ever met. I could sit and watch it some of it was really good, some of it not so good but to be fair drunks and karoke is never a good mix. We watched the dance show which was really good and others said they had seen other bits and pieces and enjoyed. I think we are going to book to go back in March and we will definitely be venturing down to watch a bit more. Its only a couple of hours a night and beats sitting in one of the bars all night.

Thanks for the reply As i said we have been to the Coral Sea but it was a few years ago and things can change so much in a short time.I enjoyed the entertainment back then but it was by a First Choice team and the reviews i have read recently have said that the entertainments not so good. I prefered it personally to the Holiday Village which i found totally dedicated to children whereas the Coral Sea did have something a bit extra to amuse the adults when we last went(nothing risque but much more suitable for the older family).We have been dithering over booking the HV again or going back to the Coral Sea so this has helped.

My Partner and I are heading to the Coral Sea Resort on Valentines Day. Has anyone used the diving centre at the hotel? What kind of prices is it for beginners dives?

Hi we didn't use the Dive School at the hotel as we booked our trips through First Choice. Going back in March and looking at using them instead for the boat trips. Here is the link to their website which should have the information you need and contact details if you want to mail them.

I have been offered the Coral Sea Resort from the travel agency and I have a Question about the beach
I have small children (4 and 2 years old). Can I actually go in the water from the beach with them to swim or is it too dangerous because of the coral? they cant really swim so would have to be careful and protect them with something (shoes, clothes etc.) Some hotels only have jetty to access the sea

The beach at CSR is expansive hard packed sand. It is fine to walk on but I always think youngsters should wear something on their feet most of the time. You can walk into the water ok well away from the coral. You can actually walk out quite a distance and the water might only be up to your knees.

We have stayed at the Coral Sea Resort and the beach is perfect for young kiddies yes i would say get them some water shoes to wear all the time not just on the beach but to go in pool with plus so they dont slip on the floor around the pools the swin up pool is a walk in pool and quite rough on your feet till you actually get into the water so water shoes would be a great idea On the beach there is a jetty but doesn't belong to CSR but can use it i never did as i dont like the deep water but hubby used it quite a lot to go snorkerling i just walked into the water from the beach which was great for me as you can walk a fair distance before the water even gets up to knee level

You will really enjoy the CSR the food is really good and ideal spot been right on the beach especailly for kiddies hope you enjoy it we did

I prefer the right hand side of the hotel (as you look out towards the sea from reception). Right hand side doesn't get the sun all day which is great as it means the rooms don't get too warm but stay a little cooler and more pleasant. Also you are away from "Bedrock" which is where all the evening entertainment takes place so if you want to a quiet night if you have trips the next day you can without being disturbed.

Hi Claire we go in 10 weeks too.When we went to the coral sea before and arrived in the evening they told us to go to the main restaurant which they opened especially for arrivals.We were also greeted with drinks.
