if you put http://www.primark.co.uk on your search engine it should come up with primarks web site, on there you will find it says shop locator. I did that this morning and found my nearest shop was bristol which is a bus train bus away. vivien

ann - I did the Google search too, and came up with the same info as vivien - I was just about to post it when I saw her post. You don't have to use the search engine, just use the website she quoted.

vivien - I think it's wiser to go there now rather than wait for the sales. That's one of the VERY few stores I buy at during the season without waiting for reductions (though they often have very heavily reduced stuff too, all year round) as their prices are so low that I prefer the wider choice available. I usually pop in at least twice a week just to see what's new, as it's mostly so cheap and if you wait too long the more popular sizes and colours can go.

By the way, the only HT-ers on my cruise are males, but visitors who aren't registered and who are also on my cruise (Melody, 16/5) needn't worry about being seen in the same trousers as me, as I'm not taking the ones I bought yesterday. I've got several older pairs which I want to wear out first, and I'll take a couple of those - so you won't have to avoid being seen with me. Mind you, once you know what my sense of humour is like, you'll probably decide to anyway - but that's another issue.......

Have got a primark in Birmingham but dont think the trousers would suit me as am 5 foot 10" have yet to find cut off trousers that suit me tend to take denim skirts to wear in the day with vest tops but think it will be rather hot in Greece in July? Got a couple of nice smart skirts for the eve, last years black dress is too big now so might have to get another one?

Matalan have some nice items in - will be stocking up on their tshirts.

Also got some nice sandles reduced today, and a smart top for eves.

Re the Melody refurb - in the summer 2005 MSC brochure it says "the MSC Melody was completely refurbished during Winter 2004/5". Now of course these brochures are printed some time ahead and so at the time of printing the refurb would not yet have taken place. I wonder if it didn't go ahead for some reason? In which case, if you'd booked a cruise and pain anything like full price you may feel quite disappointed!

I'm back Yipee. Three weeks in the wilderness - dead computer and no HT site . Had to find new interests ....ferret wrestling (no competition) and badger spinning (slightly more tricky) otherwise would have gone mad. Bought new computer...not delivered in 5-7 days as promised but three weeks. Then delivered to address that bore no resemblence to mine and had to spend whole day trying to track down with unhelpful clues from Amtrak driver such as "the house had a dog in the window"!! Finally retrieved boxes from bemused woman at 7pm Tuesday then couldn't connect to internet. Back to shop twice and needless to say more bodies under the patio. House now up for sale,. Am telling prospective purchasers that unpleasant smell is next door neighbours. Then tried to connect to HT and had forgotten password but thanks to soopa doopa efficiency HT sent me a new one in seconds so here I am. New keyboard is cr*p but that's not HT's fault. Can some kind sole please update me as I can't possibly read back over trillions of pages but gather that wallcan et al have been and back. Just before I lost contact people were saying that they were being told they had to share. Have recently spoken with KA at **** and am reliably informed that I am not sharing. Phew , wouldn't want to inflict myself on anyone! Eee it's grand to be back

Welcome back Juro, new cruisers posting are sharing to get a cruise this year but "originals" from the old thread are OK. I have it confirmed that I am not sharing - just as well as the people on either side will probably be badly enough affected anyway, never mind some poor sod actually in the same cabin trying to get to sleep!

I'll stick with the £10 cruise, no refurb, inside cabin next to the engine, smelling of smoke in the shower, lots of people wearing capri pants, waving E111 forms, flat shoes....etc

Our first MSC cruiser should have arrived back today. He posted from the Armonia and said it was great. One cruiser off today, 3 tomorrow and 1 on Monday, things are hotting up! That's all for April then we have 30 or more in May!

The only new cruises being reported are people who are having to share and we had quite a little flurry of those this week after the Watchdog follow up or it may be the follow up from the ASA report.

Hope you kept the boxes for the new computer for when you move!

Alison - the Primark trousers have drawstrings round the waist too, and I just think they may be worth trying on. The length is mid-calf, so if they come up slightly higher on you nobody will know they weren't designed to do so.

Juro - welcome back Sorry to hear your computer probs - hope all is OK now.

I searched for some news about the Melody's Refurbishment here's a extract the the CLIA March 2005 news letter:

"MSC Cruises' MSC Melody and MSC Rhapsody have undergone significant refurbishments. MSC Melody's $10.5 million renovation included the addition of new teak deck wood and refurbishment of the swimming pool and Riviera Terrace area. New upholstery and carpeting has been installed in corridors. All 532 cabins and bathrooms have been renewed with new furniture; cabins on the Oceanic Deck now sport new carpets, curtains and coverlets. The curtains in the Galaxy Restaurant on the Bahamas Deck have also been replaced. In addition to general maintenance of the decks and swimming pool and carpet replacement."

Ahhh the coverlets . l have visions of swirly designs, and textures one can only dream of , Though l do wonder if after having a G&T too many will they give you an even bigger sore head when you enter your cabin and see it all stretched over the bed.
Of course hopefully the bedroom steward/ess will have made our pjs up into some fanciful animal and that will detract from the coverlets
