well we are back home :( 9 hours after getting of the ship, back in sunny liverpool, pretty quick i think.

Hope all the others got home without any hitches

We all managed to meet up and everyone was very nice. We had a great time. We could not fault anything, all the staff were very friendly, food was plentiful and Vilma and I even got invited to the Captains table which was a nice surprise. It was only the two of us and the main crew, like the captain, chief engineer, staff captain etc.

I Know i still havnt done a review for my Caribean cruise  , but will do as well as this one soon i hope, its just a time thing.

Now we got to get unpacked, get everything sorted because we are going camping this weekend to see the fairford airshow.

Bye for now Vilma & Colin

Borismax - have a fab time on your cruise tomorrow - deadly jealous but then have already had mine!!

I would say that you would need a jacket on the Melody. I personally didn't see anyone without one on our cruise. All the guys had DJs or suits but I expect a jacket will suffice for the gala dinners. (One of the chaps even forgot to pack a tie so had to borrow one!!!)

Borismax,

I was on the June 27th cruise and there were many people, me included, who did not have a suit, jacket or dj.

There were only two formal nights and on both I wore just a smart shirt and tie.

I even saw people in jeans and tshirt, but I would suggest at least a shirt and tie.

It was very, very hot out there and I certainly did not want to lug a heavy suit, or even a jacket, with me.

Given the Italians reputation for smartness I was quite surprised at the lack of formality that many of them observed.

Enjoy your trip.Remember, it's your holiday so you don't need to do anything that you don't want to.

Thanks for your replies. I think I'll settle for the smart casual look as I'm not a suit person at the best of times. If I don't get fed I suppose there is always a sandwich somewhere.

Hi everyone,

I,m getting pretty excited now as I go next week. It has been a few years since I have gone abroad and I can,t think where you pack your aerosols, and my gas butane tongs. Do they go in my hand luggage or my suitcase?? Help!!!!!

Aerosols and gas tongs go in your checked baggage, ie suitcase, but only the one canister of gas. You're not allowed to take a spare.

Dad
Good Evening
I am not sure if I am doing this correctley or not. I put Dad at the top, as I do not know the subject I should put there.
Any way thank you Vivien, Luci, Chris and others. Dad will, I hope be home tomorrow, he is at present in Hospital.
I took to him the messages from those who sent them and he seemed very pleased to hear them.
He said to say "Bells to you all, Ding Dong" if that makes any sense.
He should be O.K. for his cruise in Oct, well he seems to think so any how.

Good Night Pat

Sorry to hear Phil is in hospital and missing this lovely weather. The October cruise is a good incentive to get better. As others have said, we miss your humour so it was good to hear from Pat.

Hi
Im home safe and sound after an amazing cruise, with good company that exceeded all my expectaions, on board and ashore. Anyone fortunate enough to be going on Armonia or sister ships are in for a very special time.well worth any kind of fight or wait that you may have.
I will post a full review, telling you all about how I got on. Safe to say I tried not to miss a thing, to drink it all in  oh and not to forget the eating....... it was wonderful.

Speedy recovery to Phil :)

I've only just read the last 3 pages as I haven't had email notifications since Fri (but I think that's my fault as I cleared the cache and temp internet files as comp running like snail!).

I suddenly realised that no HT DE cruise members would go 3 days without posting!  :rofl

Welcome home everyone and also to the 4/7 Melodians - some of you should be well on your way back to reality now. We've laid on the sunshine in case you've got withdrawal symptoms!

Can't wait to hear all about it................
