Hi Phil,
I am glad you appreciated the lovely ladies in the photo. As Jennie said it is Colin  in the photo, I was the one taking the photo. Infact I managed to stay out of most photos, don't want my 'ugly mug' spoiling things
But here is another, this time on deck after a meal and of course a few drinks!!! Even I am on this one!!!

Thanks for posting your photos, Terry - it looks like you all had a great time!

Hope everybody setting off this weekend has a wonderful time.

Phil, it'll all be worth everything once you become a Melodian :D .

I hope you have a fabulous time, but don't forget your camera - we need the evidence after  !

Yes my tickets have come for the cruse on the 17th oct hope to see any one else on this cruise in gerona . got a cabin on the bottom floor under the resturant the cabin is B30 as anyone stayed in this area of the ship still it will be ok for £10. Keep up the fight for people who have not got the cruise

Hi
My cabin was B34 in that area. No problem and only one flight of stairs to the resturant plus no noise.

This morning I received all the details for melody cruise on 24th Oct so it is now a reality! Have been allocated a cabin on the continental deck.

As I do not speak any Italian I am a little apprehensive about arrival at Malpensa airport but assume the MSC rep is easy to spot!

Still heard nothing re second cruise allocation despite being originally allocated a carribean cruise. What a fiasco!

Hi Brownviking,

Don`t worry about not speaking Italian.........the Italians are fluent in it!! :rofl

Neither did any of us on our cruise but it was not a problem. I got by with `please` and `thank you` in Italian and not much else. (Well I tried but nothing comprehensible actually came out!)

It did confuse them when I tried French and a little Spanish........not effective but good for a laugh!

Hi TonyW

Thanks for your reassurance. Actually I was more concerned about arriving at the airport and then trying to find the MSC rep prior to the transfer to Genoa. However I am sure he/she makes himself/herself quite obvious. I have visions of being stuck at Milan airport for the week!!

Looks as if everyone has enjoyed their various cruises which is good news.

Don't worry about the airport, there are lots of MSC reps there and they direct you to the correct coach. They are all very helpful.

this is a message from alison mca
who is away with six others from holiday truths
on melody
3rd oct

at the captains party they managed to get
SIX drinks EACH !!!

so she says you have to beat that !!

so to the 10th oct cruisers
if they run out of drinks on the night of the captains party
you will know who to blame !!!

Just returned from the Melody cruise and I've had a lovely time. All the hassle and effort of getting this cruise was well worth it in my opinion.
It was nice to put faces to names from others who are members of this site and to meet them.
My cabin on continental deck was spacious and clean. The room service for 24 hour free tea/coffee/juice I found excellent. I never waited more than 5 minutes after I'd ordered. I found tips early on ensured quick, friendly and efficient service.
I only did one organised tour, that was in Tunis. The other ports of call are easy to do yourself. In Ibiza if you like walking there is no need for the shuttle bus. I walked both into and out of the town and found it nice passing the new marina and the local Terramanca beach. I did get a taxi home with Alison on the Saturday evening and it only cost 8 euro.
To those going in the next few weeks I hope you have as nice a time as I did.

Hi have just discovered this site and joined. Have not had any contact from the Express re my mother-in law, wifes and my cruise, despite repeated letters and e-mails. Anyone got any tips as to what I can do further.

Thanks in advance Steve.

Hi Steve,

I'm glad that you have found us. We will do what we can to help but there isn't much activity at the minute. The Daily Express have taken over the running of the cruise promotion but unfortunately we haven't had a report of a cruise being booked now since about May or June.

I think the best thing for you to do now is contact the Express using the number in the Daily Express Cruise - Useful Links, Telephone Nos and Info thread and make sure that they have your details in their system and press them to tell you what is happening and when you might hear a bit more.

Good luck.

:wave Hi Craig, glad to see you're still here (hope your Mum and Dad are enjoying their cruise...or am I too early??). Everything gone very quiet on this link since Phil left yesterday for his cruise (wig, sarong an' all)-wonder why that is?! I know everyone keeps giving out info to newcomers and those still waiting but what is a reasonable time regarding the the lack of response from the DE? A lot of us have had fantastic cruises but there are still loads waiting like "stepau" who have just joined. Please let's not lose the will to fight for and support all those still waiting on the dockside..." A £10 pound cruise for every reader" they said, and so should it be!!

Good news, London Cabby.

Hope you have a GREAT time.

Glad to hear that your tickets have arrived ok. I was only thinking about you today, as it is just you and me that are waiting for Caribbean cruises. I still have another month of waiting, as I don't leave till December 3rd.

Where are all the other Express cruises? No one has been allocated one for yonks. Those waiting MUST use the fact that we got ours, to help their argument in getting their cruises. Good luck all those still hoping.

Well, have a lovely cruise, London Cabby. Will be interested to hear how it all went.

hi kay

it does not really seem so long ago that this cruise forum was
about ten pages long every night you checked in to look at it

my daughter alison mca has been on her med cruise on melody
on 3rd oct
she is staying for a week with her brother in london
so i have not had her home yet with all the news
but she had a great time

remember at the start how pessimistic we all were
we thought they might make us share a cabin
that perhaps it would be a grotty old ship
or they would cancel it all
she did not even buy clothes until she received tickets
(about two weeks before sailing)

so there is hope for all yet
