Glad you are sorted. You don't need jabs for the Caribbean. I did not have to have any at Christmas although mine are still valid froman earlier visit to Sri Lanka. Is there not a plan of the decks on the internet so that you can find your cabin? Sometimes they are in the brochures.

Keep trying as I did. I photocopied everything I sent back to Rise Travel. Like you, I should have been sailing to-day.

Hi Alii - well done.

Yes I am doing similar NCL cruise as you the week before, but from Miami. I have extended stay in Miami for an extra week, so I will still be away as you set out. However, will try & post a brief note once on board.

I expect you noticed from the NCL tickets that you must pre register via their web site at least 14 days before departure. Did mine yesterday - no problems. Have also been able to choose my flight seating via the AA web page. The only thing I am not certain about is the reconfirmation of the flights - what is your undersatanding of what we should do?

Think I will leave shore excursion booking till I get on board.

Looks like crusie tips are inclusive !

Cheers

Hi Wallecan,

I will be leaving a bit earlier anyway as I am spending couple of days in Houston. Leave on the 13th. I too have already pre-registered on NCL site and selected seats on AA too. My understanding is the flights don't need to be confirmed. You can also check in online upto 24 hours before departure which I shall do.

Tis all very exciting and "real" now the ticket has arrived :yipee
ps my tips arent inclusive as it says in booklet, it will be billed to onboard account at $10/day ? maybe you got away with it!!

Also I have booked online 1 shore excurion that I really wanted to do and not miss out on...the lamanai and new river safari in Belize. Any others i'll leave till onboard. The western caribbean is so great for me as it offers such exciting trips like the jungle one, rather than just sunbathing and snorkelling all the time. Mind you as well as the cute monkeys in the trees, they also have tarantulas :yikes

Its not really caribbean at all is it? Its mexico and central america which is so cool. I would have been happy with anything but this is just amazing

That's a good trip to book - I will have a look in a mo & may do the same. Agree it's all very exciting, a real adventure.

Have checked the 'tips' again on NCL site. Confusing as under 'Gratuities' they say no need to tip. But there is a 'Service Charge' of $10 a day to cover tipping!

Cheers.

Yes $10 are automatically added to account daily and distributed between stateroom steward and dining room staff according to welcome booklet. It says you can contact front desk on board to alter amount of tips you want to give. Drinks on board not included and 15% gratuity added to bar bills automatically.

I also like the look of the trip arial trek and cave tubing, to book on ship. I'd like to swing in the trees but not too keen on the cave tubing :hmmm

are in order from the Captains table of the Balcony Cruise, Well Done Alii :D :D :pele :pele :pele :fly (come fly with meeeee come fly with meeeeee) O.K. at karioki I'm usless I know I've been told by a group of 6 - 8 year olds today. (Why do all small children scream so ??? They out shouted the monkeys - come to think of it I'd rather have traded a couple of monkeys than some of those little darlings (?) :ghug :offtop :whoops

:fly It is good to read of friends getting cruises and to such erotic places :fly
The flight 10hrs plus is what puts me off, at 6' 4" and 17 st. I have a job fitting into those charter seats, even the normal carriers seem to squeeze the seats together a bit these days.
I'm off on Oct 10th to Milan then Genoa to sail the Western Med for 7 days, it will be good as the Med is not to hot in Oct and the winter gales have not begun in ernest, although it can get a bit rough, as I remember - although it's 38 yrs since i last sailed through the Canal, and they shot at us, I have never forgive the Israilies for that. :!: :!: :argue :offtop

I have been attempting to load up the photos but I have had to ask Lucui for help :bow
All the best to everyone - just of to watch Acorn Antquies

Byeeeee
A sobar, but not for long

When you are on board, it might be worth asking if you can have the tips removed and pay your own. I paid the required Cunard tips for three trips. At Christmas, a man behind me in the queue at Southampton, told me you did not have to pay them so I asked to have them removed. This is not something they publicise. On the previous trips, I paid and then tipped the waiter and the steward again as this was expected. Fortunately, the currency was dollars and the rate of exchange good.

Has anyone travelling MSC actually had confirmation in writing that there is a transfer included from Milan to Genoa?

Must go to bed early as I have been drowning my sorrows in wine because Manchester United beat Southampton.

Glad to see that you are back safely, Phil.

The call came today - offered either:
1. guaranteed Med cruise from Sept 2006 not "Caribbean" as
per my original allocation letter
2. Med cruise in 2005 in shared cabin.
3. Self catering accommodation in Spain or Portugal
4. Flight to Boston or Washington
5. Or £150 cheque

Must choose one, no other alternatives will be offered :? Anyone else in the same "boat"??
