Hi Alan W I too have accepted the cruise in 2006 but was not told September just that I would be contacted between July and September to arrange the cruise. I feel all of us that took that option should stick together and keep up the pressure. I tried to get the offer confirmed in writing but was told that was not an option. Has anyone got any ideas about how we can make our very delayed cruises really happen?? I too should now be on the high seas downing gins and tonic on the way to Libya but well done all of you have got your cruises and for all the great posts this forum has given me hope

Oh Jennie, you make me feel so much better - I thought it must be me. Not only are they Benidorm, they are 2003 - am I in a timewarp The first time I tried I got about 50+ pages, now it is down to only 3, but I can't see any up-to-date ones. Magsy - HELP!!!

I was allocated a cruise to south america dept on 23 april, I contacted them in Feb to be told they would contact me before the end of March. On telephoning them last week, I was told they would get back to me..the very next day i received a letter stating they had never received my confirmation. However, 'as a gesture of goodwill' they sent me a book of useless travel vouchers.

From the comments I have read regarding the rise travel cruise offer in the express the majority of people have not been on the cruise they were promised. I have later discovered that the South Americam cruise has now been cancelled by Rise, however, customers have been given various reasons as to why this is.

I have contacted the Express Newspaper by e-mail, and was pleasantly surprised that within two hours received a telephoned response from the Express. They person I spoke to was very helpful and stated she would look into this and get Rise Travel to contact me.

If I send back the vouchers they sent me they will allocate a cruise to me within the next six weeks. I have sent back the vouchers today and will keep you posted.

Dont get your hopes up yet, Our information is that they are not booking any more cruises till Sept. 2006
They will probably phone offering a range of alternatives. For the latest best check the main thread

I am aware that this thread often veers off topic. I would ask members to post off topic chat in the Roll Call topics, however I am aware that this isn't an option for those still waiting to confirm their cruise.

I've been quite lenient with the banter as it's what has got many of you through this whole situation and keeps you coming back. However I would ask you to try to remain on topic as much as possible.

Hope all goes as promised........just be aware that `allocating` a cruise (which may well be in 2006) is not the same as `confirming` a cruise.

We have pretty much all found this out the hard way...assume nothing and get specific written confirmation before you start packing you suntan lotion.................which incidentally are 2-for-1 at Boots right now, I believe!!!

That might not be right. I've recently been offered (and turned down: I couldn't manage the dates) a cruise for Summer 2005. Also, MSC have cut their Summer rates by a lot - so they can't be overbooked!

Hi jnazer, Stick with us and we will keep you on the right path (and also provide a shoulder to cry on if need be). Tony and Peter are quite right, 'allocation' is not to be confused with 'confirmation' as many of us on here can testify.

I only said "may well be 2006" so as not to get jnazer`s hopes up too much. Hope the 2005 is offered to suit.

There were quite a few members posting recently that they have been told no more £10 cruises until 2006 then up pops someone who gets offered one!

And they wonder why we get so cynical about any information we get!!

If MSC are dropping prices, it would be good business sense for Rise/MKM/DE to scoop up a good deal on block bookings and start slotting prople into them....................save money, make a lot of people happy and everyone wins..............

..............sorry, just paused for another cynical moment there!
