I have a feeling that this wouldn't apply here.
Our contract (if that is what we have!) is with Rise as they were at liberty to choose whatever cruise they decided and we haven't actually purchased an advertised holiday.
When I first saw this offer I imagined we would probably just get a few days notice (to fill any vacant cruise places) and the holidays would be last minute 'fill ins'. So really I am better off than I first thought I would be and have had 6 months of anticipation (or worry - if that's the way you choose!) for a one-off holiday.
I am pleased now to have a written confirmation and will just sit back, stop worrying and wait......hopefully!!

As far as I know, it is just a "run of the mill cruise".
By the way, Sri Lanka produces its own brand of whisky. It is wine that is difficult to get.
In answer to Magsy'squestion, I have received confirmation directly from Cunard which was sent to me by the travel agent.

i am an early bird not an owl and i do most of my "day mapping" at this time. i continue to feel happy about my new cruise and i await my tickets which were promised within seven days. what did strike dread in me was the concern that how could something so confirmed unravel into nothing ?
however the consultant at rise must have worked very hard to get this replacement cruise for me and i appreciate that. it has happened to me before on reflection . only last year i was weeks away from a paid for tour of the mayan sites in mexico when out of the blue i had a call saying due to insufficent take up it was cancelled ....however i could choose anything out of the brochure as a substitute . i opted for a lost world tour of venezuela and had the best holiday ( so far ) of my life.
so positive thinking is the motto... a rise consultant has obviously put in some effort to find this cruise and and i intend to enjoy it doubly reflecting in their kindness.
Hey... who was slurring Napoli last night? It is not neopolitans who crowd round tourists with fake concertina music and pickpocketing beggers....but of course i would say that wouldn,t i with my maternal family roots there. i love the place ,, the coolness and mystery of the the alleyways, the incredible sinister churches and the wonderful combinstion of lsughter and delicious smells from neopolitans at their meals. i will be popping in to catch up with family at my cruise stop in napoli..
1 have never been to turkey so i look forward to the chance of a bit of exploring there too.. who was it who said that " it is better to travel hopefully than to arrive" an exceptonaly hard working day awaits. good luck to those awaitng resolution oftheir cruise hopes jackie
I must admit it would be easier to be allowed to browse unhindered rather than constantly asked to "Look in my shop, I give you good price", but they really mean no harm and are just a bit over enthusiastic. Not a problem if you've been before as a firm, but friendly, "No thanks" or "Later" delivered with a smile usually works.

Lol.........after all the phonecalls and emails, trying to get my cruise sorted for this year, (should have gone on Med cruise 12th Mar), and being promised a phonecall from Rise travel within the next 6 weeks, I need to re-schedule now for next year, due to a job posting to the middle east.
They gonna love this one, aren't they. First I bang my gums about wanting to go as soon as possible, now I got to hope for a 2006 cruise. I've got 5 weeks time to sort it. Chance to do that on a scale of 1-10? about 0.2 at a guess. Wish me luck!! I feel I need it.

I feel quite happy with my written confirmation for my cruise Armonia 3/7. This I feel is a documented contract that would definately have to be replaced with a cruise equal or better if cancelled, as in the case of Jackie. We will soon see as the MSC cruises start April, I'm relly looking forward to the reviews from them.
im sure the easyjet phone no is on the website. i know ive come across it somewhere raych are you thinking of confirming your flight .if you do it'll cheer me up cos i expect to be up with you too .I keep meaning to try but always do other things

Has everyone got E-tickets with their confirmation booking?
i ve got a wording on my confirmation to tell me that a ticket wont be issued as its done electronically and to take the confirmation to the booking in desk .is that one
