Hi

I'm new to this forum, so please bear with me! Firstly I had a great evening on Wednesday at the meeting in Candolim. It was great to meet everyone.

I have had my teeth whitened this season at Soniya's (as recommended by many people - Chillie included!) and am pleased with the results. I am a smoker, so I didn't give her a good mouth to start from and I don't suppose anyone but my nearest and dearest would notice the difference, but I certainly do. She is very gently and thorough and I am going to see her for some more work that I can't afford in UK! The cost was 8,600rps, which included the most thorough clean that I've ever had.

Hi all

Looking at having a "tiny" amount of work done (Filling replaced!) when I am over in Feb. Is this feasible? I am contemplating this on the basis of it being a little cheaper as well as the good reputation of the dentistry completed.
Has anybody got any experience of visiting the "chair" over in Goa, and any recommendations??
Can you just "drop in" or need to book and is it relatively cheaper, and the standard really better, than the UK

Any advices welcome

Kind regards!! Roll on the 26th Feb!

Hi there my brother is out in candolim at the moment and my nephew has had 2 white fillings this morning and a broken tooth re-built?? (£39), he also wanted teeth whitening but he has a problem with enamal on his teeth so the dentist would not do the whitening as he said they would look worse. He used dr ambert pimenta (i think spelling might be wrong) he said his web site is goadentist .com. They were very pleased we go out monday and i have made an appointment to see him thursday. He is very handy in the highland beach resort just were we are staying!
Regards Sharon

Have to disagree, Pimentas work was so bad on my friend, we had to go to Budapest to have the shoddy work put right, and she had spent a lot of money, lost most of her holiday time, and spent most of it in pain,

I would never even think about getting work done on my teeth on holiday. Why risk your health for the sake of a few pounds??

Yes there might be people who have had excellent work done, and in the process saved some money, but as Lin said above, her friend was in pain and wasted a lot of her holiday due to having treatment done.

Do yourself a favour and just go to Goa for a nice relaxing holiday.

Whilst staying in the Somy lots of guests had work done in Beyond the Smile across the road £20 for a white filling and £180 for whitening

I am travelling to Cavellosim at Easter and plan to have extensive cosmetic dental work done - including veneers, bridge and crowns. I have read a number of good reports on Carvalhos dental clinic - but none on Fernandes dental clinic - whose prices are much cheaper. Has anyone had work (other than whitening) done at either of these surgeries (or any others in Cavellosim) and would you recommend them ?

I would be looking at which dentist has the best reputation, not who is the cheapest option!

used Ambert Pimenta while here in Dec and have no complaints, very efficient and value for money, will definitely return next trip

I also used Dr Ambert Pimenta in Jan 2008,I got a full set of dentures made for £90 (£400 plus in UK).We go again to Goa in 15 days (7th Feb 09) for 3 weeks flying from Manchester with FC to Silver Sands Candolim, so who knows maybe get a second set made lol.So i can deffo recomend Ambert Pimenta without a doubt.

Must have seen me coming then I paid £250 and the end result would have been more suited to a horse :rofl

I have to say that I thought £180 for whitening was on the steep side :que
