If he couldnt speak a word of English how do you know it was refundable in the first place and how did you find out you had to get it from the office?
Luzley states quite clearly in the post that he pointed to the piece of paper where the infomation was printed.
When the booking was made was any mention made re "local deposit/payment" being required? I find it strange that this was not known before travelling.
Why did the OP not visit the office? Yes I know they were going to the airport but whenever I have been on holiday and been required to pay some sort of deposit then reclaiming has been part of the my departure process. Did they not visit the office during their stay to confirm the arrangements?
Low cost holidays will not have any outstanding monies as this was a "local" payment. I think this is a case of sorry but you have lost it.
