Five 100cc or seven 70cc bottles of wine or spitits but I have never been stopped or asked how much I have.
Cheers John, last year i took 5 litre bottles of spirits into Turkey & was never questioned.
where shall i get fags and bacca from ive been told to get them from manchester airport before our flight to turkey what do you think about the prices and where shall i get them
debbie
Don't buy them in the Turkish Resort as they will be fakes, however on arrivals in Dalaman there is DF and Sulkcut were £12 per carton and were OK.
get them when you land here iin Turkey, cheeper, what brands are you looking for?
the airport duty free shop that was on arrivals in the old terminal was always well stocked but not sure of the layout yet on the new terminal
the local turkish ciggi's are ok as long as they have the goverment seal on them hope this is helpfull
Returned from Istanbul last Friday, Silkcut in the arrivals hall were €18 a carton, duty free it the departure lounge they were €18.50
If anyone flies through the new airport before then could you let me know if duty free cigs are still available on arival please.

thanks

If you are in Icmeler or Marmaris you can get the hydrofoil over to Rhodes and buy as many ciggies as you want over there. Make sure you keep the receipt to prove to UK customs that you bought them in an EU Country (Greece)
Turkish customs on return to Marmaris may well confiscate you smokes as you are allowed to bring only 200 smokes in the same as you are allowed to take back to the UK.
John
Nala where did you get this info from? Me thinks some greek cig seller has been telling you porkies

Hi
If you are in Icmeler or Marmaris you can get the hydrofoil over to Rhodes and buy as many ciggies as you want over there. Make sure you keep the receipt to prove to UK customs that you bought them in an EU Country (Greece)
And be done for smuggling
English cigs on sale in resort have come into the country the same way and the Turkish gvt dont take too kindly to smuggling. Not only can they confiscate them you can be fined huge amounts, get kept in the country untill you pay off the fine, lose your flight home as your holiday company will have washed their hands and then suffer the indignity of being deported.
Not really worth it for 200 fags
I read it on Customs Website
http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pageTravel_InfoGuides&propertyType=document&id=HMCE_PROD_010220
I didn't realise about the Turkish Customs though. Sorry if I misled anyone
Can anyone tell me the allowance of things such as ciggarettes and alcohol to bring back from turkey, and anything else there is an allowance on. Just don't want to get home and have things taken away from me
Thanx in advance

6 days 2 go
Hi,its 1 litre of spirit per adult and 200 cigarettes altough the people selling them at the airport will tell you you can take as much as you want, not the case.
The chap at duty free told me I could take 1000 ciggies through. I actually took 600. Whoops!
Was just wondering what the allowances were for things such as ciggarettes, alcohol etc. I did ask this a few days ago but can find the thread. We went to turkey last year and i think the allowance was 400 ciggs each not sure about alcohol. Is it still the same?? Any help appreciated, we leave on friday
Marmaris here we come
*Edit merged to existing topic Briar
how many, is too many, and what do they do? also, if you are up to your limit befor boarding the plane, can you still buy them on your way home?
not that i want to come back with thousands, just enough to last at least a month!
