We have stopped bringing extra fags back after 2000 were taken off us at Manchester last April. Bahrain tells you that there is no limit but it is only 200pp. Its not worth declaring the excess, they quoted us £40 per 200 at Manchester so it makes them same price as here

I have a question

my flight states

depart MAN on 20th march at 0.145 ( that makes it 21st? does it not) arrive Goa 16.30- is that 16.30 on Monday 20th :?

depart GOA monday 27th 18.00 arrive 00.05 now that means I leave Goa on the Monday and arrive tuesday morning yes? :?

no 0145 is 1.45am on the 20th and arrive 16.30, theres the 5 1/2 (or poss 6 1/2) hour time differance ahead of us arent they . which means your flight is 10.15 hours long plus 6.30 time differance is 16.30 landing time

dep 01;45 arr 16;00 somthing,

aircraft flys at 500 mph aprox 5000 miles = 10 hours, time difference + 5 hours, all times printed are local, so that about right.

remember all times are local so flying home = minus 5 hours.

hope that helps

I've heard Monarch will no longer be flying out of Manchester to Goa on Thursdays next season. Can anyone confirm? Will anybody else (My Travel maybe) be departing Thursdays?
Reply
They keep changing - I couldn't get a flight on a Thursday this season (we have always gone Thursday) so out on a Friday with Monarch for us,arrive Sat morning - went with Excel last year and wish they were still running.

Just returned from a great holiday in Goa and flew Monarch from Manchester. The flights were basic but bearable however the reason for my post is that on the way back we were delayed in Goa for two hours and as I had to catch the last train home at Manchester I asked the crew when we landed in Bahrain what time we would be leaving and land in Manchester.

It happened to be the pilot who I asked and he assured me he would do his best to get back in time for my train.

Halfway through the flight the PILOT came into the cabin, found me and told me that as there had been headwinds we would not make it on time for the train however he asked where I was going to and when I told him Leeds he told me he was driving home that way and would give me and my wife a lift home from the airport.

He met us outside the airport within twenty minutes of landing and gave us a lift home.

How about that for service

Yes that was really good of him especially after such a long flight. :kiss
On another note Monarch flights get slated on here(guilty myself) but in February we flew Mytravel, the food was disgusting,i would have been embarrased serving it and i never noticed any extra legroom but I did like that screen on the seat in front with the map and camera view of the journey. sad or what ! or just anything to pass the time,

A long time ago there was flights from Edinburgh to Goa via Newcastle They were run by British Caladonian with Tri-Stars, We were on the inaugural flight. by the time you took of, then landed at Newcastle for more passengers, then refuelled in Amman in Jordan where you were not allowed off the plane it added up to a 16hr. journey It only lasted a year or so as the time cooped up in a charter seat was more than most people were prepared to put up with. To cap it all on the return leg the inflight entertainment was burst so it was 16 very long hours indeed! Alan

Been reading about people being charged for excess baggage on their way out of Goa. It is my understanding that you are allowed 20kg each, so in my case there are 3 of us travelling, my Son is taking his own small case and I am sharing a large case with my wife, does this mean that we are allowed up to 40 kg in the 1 case ? :?

If I remember rightly, a case weighing 40kg will have to go in special luggage, porters/loaders where hurting themselves lifting the heavy baggage, better split the weight to save any hassle.

Your tickets should have your weight allowance on them.

When checking in give the girl a nice big smile say hello, works every time, never paid a penny in excess yet.

No the law has now changed
because of back injuries to the workers who handle the baggage you cannot have more than 32kgs in one suit case but then deppending on the company you fly with they will have there own allowance and charges but not any above 32kgs

:shrug :shrug NO feelthevibe deffo not it happened to us only a few weeks back going to spain .....im not sure what the allowance was for two sharing one case but it was not 20 ks each.........my son said it was 30ks but i am sure it was not 40.........if you can bring one case each for all the goodies your wife will bring home and that i am sure of too haha
