When checking in give the girl a nice big smile say hello, works every time, never paid a penny in excess yet.
I think your best bet is to be one of the first in the queue they seem to get a bit more keen on the later passengers.
Allan.
O well I will just have to try and manage with the 30k we get with the
upgrade with First choice, hope to off load a lot of the incoming with Rob at

Are you on the 1-30 ish FC flight from Gatwick on Thursday, flight was originally 2-30. Seems to be a few problems with FC flights. Keep them fingers crossed eh mate. See you in the bar if you are!
yes, on that one! look out for 2 scots drinking champagne
our flight was changed to from original booking , found out when on plane that we werent stopping at bahrain.,lot off people dissopointed .seems not many airlines stop now ,does any one know the reason for this ?
hope you enjoyed your holiday.
If I was on a non-stop flight to Goa rather than having a refuelling stop-over in Bahrain, I think I'd be over the moon rather than disappointed!
Polly
Just wondering is there any reason to this? Why have charter flights stopped stopping at Dubai or do some still stop at Dubai rather than Barhain?
This is just out of curiosity.
Thanks
Just arrived home yesterday on the Monarch flight to Gatwick. Despite all the bad press about Monarch, we couldn't fault them, other than the food! Just wondered if the First Choice Flight that was delayed 24 hours had arrived back in the UK yet. The Monarch steward took great delight in telling us all that Monarch flew the required spare part over and there was not a First Choice Engineer who could fix the problem, so a Monarch engineer was there to save the day.
I have to say that i think monarch are great, a lot of people slate them but i have never encountered a delay with them, cabin crew are always really friendly and cannot do enough. Monarch are a low cost airline, this is why most of the 'cheap deals' are flying with monarch so the price reflects the legroom etc.
has anyone on here flew the birmingham - goa route with thomson recently - the one that departs at 02:45 on a Monday morning? I was wondering what sort of routine they went for with regards to food and drink timings for the flight - I am hoping that as soon as we take off and they have done their briefings etc they will turn the lights off for a few hours rather than try and serve drinks food etc. Can any one let me know what they did please?
I was just about to ask the very same question. We fly from Brum a week on Monday (10th I think) and was just wondering what the plane, journey, food etc etc were like
Good service, comfy seats with good leg room, extra baggage allowance, reasonable food and friendly staff. Well worth the extra. Much, much better than grumpy Monarch Airlines upgrade and cheaper.

Flying with Monarch from Manchester In March, Friday 3.30pm. Booked with Travelpack.
My cases are in the hall awaiting a taxi tomorrow morning to take us to the airport for flights to Vancouver. We're going Premier Class to Vancouver for about £25 more than it costs Monarch cattle class to Goa.
Is somebody taking the mickey here?
Why do you want to go 1 way charter 1 way schedule anyway???????
