Flight Only / Airline and Airports

Discussions relating to flight only, airlines and airports.
Can anyone confirm whether or not a specific flight has been cancelled, or if First Choice haven't been straight with me?

We were due to fly on 17/07/2007 LGW to Reus on FCA4242. Gatwick's timetable still lists this flight, but FC have told us it has been cancelled (throughout June and July) and have offerred us a much less convenient flight 11 hours earlier.

Thanks for your help

Harry Boat,

It's still showing on OAG as scheduled (FCA4242 dep LGW 1720, arr REU 2025) but that doesn't mean much since OAG only gets update a couple of times a year. The only flight showing on FCA's system as available is FCA4202/3 LGW-REU departing at 0630, arriving 0930. The late flight, FCA4242 seems to have dissapeared. Looks like the information FCA have given you is correct and they've brought the flight forwards 11 hours. Its being opperated by a Boeing 757-200.

Hope that helps,

Darren

Thanks Darren. There were 2 Tuesday flights when we made the booking last October, but for some reason they've stopped the late flight and shoved us on to the early one. We're not impressed, but have to accept it or cancel our holiday.

Cheers

Hi,
we're flying First Choice from Gatwick to Paphos on 18/7/7, flight FCA4320, can anyone confirm what aircraft this would be?
Some idea of IFE (I guess ceiling mounted) and best rows for legroom would be nice too (in economy) :)

Thanx

dal,

You flight'll be opperated with a Boeing 757-200. IFE is provided via isle mounted (ceiling) CRT screens. There isn't a best row, its all personal preference. Seat pitch is 28" regardless of where you sit apart from the extra legroom seats which you have to pay extra for.

Have a great time,

Wow, thanks for the speedy response! :D
Would the return (FCA4321 I think) on the 25th be the same aircraft?
(reason I ask is FC seem to think the return has premier seating available and I didn't think their 757's had any)

Thanx again
Dave

My flight to reus at 5:50 on 25/5/07 on a321, what legroom is there on this plane please?

Dont always count on your shorthaul flight being a B757-200, a A320-200 or even a A321-200.

There have been a number of occasions this year where a tech problem has caused a B767-300 to operate short haul flights, today for example PJLO operated to Larnaca, a couple of weeks ago it went to Paphos.

Theres no way of telling when you might get one, but just count yourself lucky if you do.

This is mainly because there are surplus B767's around now and no surplus B757's.

I can only go off what is on the screen in front of me. There's bound to be an odd change of aircraft from time to time with technical problems etc. I know a few flights to PFO were serviced with a 763 last year, no such luck for my flights though!

dal,

Both your outbound and inbound flights are down as a 757-200.

sambache3592,

Seat pitch on the A321's is 28" in economy. The premium seats are 32" from memory.

I wasnt taking a dig.

Just telling people that they may be lucky and have the B757 replaced with a B767 this year because of the different way things are being run.

I know, sorry, didn't mean it like that. I hope they are since I love the full star class product. I was wishing my flights to PFO were upgraded to the 763 instead of the A320 and 752. The flight the week before and a couple of weeks after were, just my luck!

I would really love to post the cross section of a FCA B767 but unfortunatly its copyright.

xdaniellex,

As BEfreeTODAY says, there is one but it would be a breach of copyright to produce a copy and post it on here. It's a good one as well, side on view of the aicraft with a cut out down the side. A description will have to do instead! The Boeing 767-300ER's have 9 rows of premium seats configured 2-3-2 with 36" seat pitch. These are situated in the front cabin to the left as you board the aircraft. The economy section has 28 rows configured 2-3-2 with 33" seat pitch on your right as you board (from the L2 door). This is what the inside of G-OOBL looks like.

I hope that helps!

in july last year we booked to go back to the algarve in june.. 20 days and counting!! in november we got a phone call inviting us to take up the offer of premium upgrade seats, with less to pay than our original total[which included extra legroom]. this seemed too good to be true. after being briefed by the fc. rep. we accepted such a deal. we would appreciate any comments from anyone who has travelled to faro in both classes, thus giving us an insight to the plusses. thanks from bazza & mazza.

bazza31,

It all depends where you are travelling from and the aircraft they assign. Have you got a flight number? Are you going from LGW? If so, they may have switched to and A321. If not, they may have scheduled a 767-300 in which case, you're in for a treat. If thats the case, I'll not spoil it by commenting on what you'll get but lets just say you're in for a treat and probably wish the flight was longer than 2 and a bit hours!
