What about everyone that was due a holiday in Jamaica today?!

There was never a flight to Jamacia, there was last week and there will be next week. BAA dont seem to have got the fact its a fortnightly flight so are quoting it as cancelled when it doesnt appear to be departing.

I have just paid my balance for our holiday in Kenya and queried the baggage allowance as on my original information it stated 30kgs(premium flight) and on the internet it stated 23kg. We are flying with First Choice and apparently the allowance has been reduced as the baggage handlers are refusing to lift more than that

Anyway - the guy I spoke to at First Choice was very helpful and I faxed him our original documentation and we are being allowed 30kgs, but he also told me that if we produce our divers certification at check in, we get an additional 10kgs free!! You just have to pre book it with the airline which was painless.

Needless to say, I have never seen this offered in any of the literature

Yes I had the same problem I booked premimum class last year with 30kg of luggage allowance for this August, and then discovered that they had reduced it to 23kg. I rang FC and they said we still qualify for 30kg but you can only have up to 23kg in any bag so we are having to an extra case now

That's useful to know. The guy didn't tell me we would need an extra case, but it's worth doing rather than getting to the airport and having to buy another one!

For anyone flying First Choice to Spain this summer, here's what they've told me about how they're dealing with Advance Passenger Information:

"First Choice does not currently have the facility to enter this data
online, as such the information will need to be captured at the airport.
However First Choice will be employing the use of special Passport
scanners, this means that there should be no significant delay in
checking in at the airport."

The last time I travelled with FCA, March this year, they had someone going round with a laptop and scanner doing advanced checks whilst you were in the queue for check-in. They then put a security sticker on your passport to say you'd been scanned. I'm not sure what it was all about, but it did seem to speed things up a little.

We flew with fc premier on 22 april to mexico, having never flown premier before the legroom was fantastic, but I don't know whether I would pay again, extra legroom seats in star class would have been just as good. only having one toilet up front was ridiculous, they didn't like people queing and you got sent to the other toilets anyway. we were lucky on the inbound flight as we were in row 3 a/b, so could see when there was nobody at the loo, just as well as hubby was taken ill on the flight and could not have waited! The premier cabin was full and families were split up-lots of moaning, unsurprisingly.
The only time being in prem. worked in our favour was when they changed departure gates at cancun, there was a huge queue and we just swanned down to the front, much to the disdain of everyone else waiting.
I would definitely recommend fc for long haul every time.
we want to go to orlando next year but fc only fly (to sanford) once a week. If you could get more flights with them we would go with them rather than virgin, who are not what they used to be and I absolutely would not upgrade for their rip-off prices.

hey, Ive upgraded to star class premier from gatwick to Dom Rep noticed on my online invoice it says check in: 9.20 and the plane departs at 11.20, is my check in 2 hrs before as i have upgraded or is this the same time for every passenger?

I have a cabin shot of the A320-200 (which doesn't have premiun seating) which probably won't be much use to you, and have checked Airliners.net and Jetphotos.net but there aren't any there.

Booked a ticketless flight with First Choice to Dalaman next week,got it very cheap,never done this before,is it so straightforward just give your ref No ,and hand your passports over.

Ticketless travel is easy-peasy. All you need is your booking reference number and your passport. I just print a copy of the booking confirmation and hand that in.
