Holiday Mad2007,
In my post to Starry on the previous page (click on the link in blue). There are more cabin shots, including the SCP cabin from my flight to Varadero last year in these trip reports:
First Choice Airways Flight FCA048; Manchester (MAN/EGCC) - Varadero, Cuba (Juan Gualberto Gomez, VRA/MUVR), 3rd March 2006
First Choice Airways Flight FCA049 from Varadero, Cuba (Juan Gualberto Gomez, VRA/MUVR) - Manchester (MAN/EGCC), 17th March 2006

I looked at the link, nice report and pictures, but who is the ugly guy with the headphones.
Pendragon
who is the ugly guy with the headphones
Cheeky!! I hate the little headphones when flying long haul. They hurt my ears after a while so always take my big ones. They're already packed for my Air France flights 5 weeks today. 13 hours of oo la la to look forward to so they'll come in handy.
Darren
Thanks again for the links..seats look very comfy..looking forward to the flight..we're up there in the mood lighting section..Is there a difference between the 767-39H ER plane you had and the 767-300 ER planes that you mention have been doing the LGW-Dalaman route recently..?
What did you think of the Rio de Oro..we stayed there in 2001 on our Honeymoon, when it was owned by the Melia chain..stayed in one of the bungalows right down at the bottom end, nearest the beach access..we looked out onto the platform where they do the massages out over the cliff top..was best holday ever...definetly 5*
The -39H/ER and -300/ER are the same. -300ER is the aircraft type. The 9H in 39H just refers to the Boeing customer code for the airline who ordered the aircraft when new. They're one in the same thing.
If you look at the hotel review section, my hotel review is posted there. The PDRO is a fantastic hotel, probably the best hotel in Cuba. That's not just my opinion, most people who stay there think so as well as you probably know.
Have a great time in Turkey,
Darren
Got back from Florida on Sunday morning and ive just got to say that I thought SCP on FCA was absolutely fantastic. It was everything I expected and although the landing at Sanford on the 14th July was horrific and absolutely no fault of the pilot whatsoever, was the weather,
I would recommend FCA longhaul to everyone. The seats were great, food was good, the cabin crew were fantastic both legs and the entertainment certainly kept us and the kids occupied for hours.
Well done FCA
Jaxter.
thats good news jaxter,we go to sanford with fca on 29th of september, looking forward to it,but can you elaborate a bit more about the landing, never been longhaul before, thanks mo.
The Boeing 767 series aircraft does feel like it touches down more positive than most other large commercial jets. I beleive this is partly due to the main landing gear arrangements but it's nothing to worry about. From memory, pilots aim for a descent rate of no more than 6 fpm (feet per minute) upon touchdown. I think what Jaxter meant was the weather conditions on approach were turbulent and therefore the landing was a little heavier than normal as the aircraft was buffeted by the winds. If there was a crosswind component, landings can be quite spectacular. Having flown light aircraft, the skill and airmanship of commercial pilots is extremely high and you're in very safe hands. Nothing to worry about.
Darren
thanks dazbo. mo.
just to reiterate what Dazbo said, the descent was all over the place purely just down to the weather, we landed in a thunderstorm. It was 2pm and it was black outside, pouring down, and the plane was going up/down, left/right for the whole way down. I hate flying so I described it as being horrific. Im sorry if i've scared you You can do nothing about the weather, the whole crew were fantastic though so I felt ok (ish)I was near one of the cabin crew on descent and she talked her socks off the whole landing. She was great. Hope you have a good holiday, i certainly did.
Jaxter.
thanks for that jaxter. mo
We are about to book a holiday to Brazil travelling from Manchester with First Choice. My question is whether it is worth booking extra leg room seats on this flight? is 33' enough legroom and if we do book the extra legroom seats which I understand to be the emergency exit seats, then do these seats recline?
I did 14 hours with FCA in March, their longest flight and 33" was enough for me. Extra legroom seats are located as rows 12 and 20 (depending on the aircraft). Extra legroom seats give you equivelent of about 50" seat pitch and they still recline. Refer to my trip reports for more information.

Any ideas what type of plane we'll be on for the following:
FCA2300 - Manchester to Rhodes, outbound on Wed 22nd August @ 7:10am
FCA2301 - Rhodes to Manchester, inbound on Wed 29th @ 2:40pm
Cheers
KeefG,
Thank you for your reply dazbo5. I'll settle for the standard seats
Cheers fella
I am travelling to Margarita Island on the 30th December. Any ideas what plane it might be?.
First Choice only use Boeing 767-300/ER's on long haul flights. Have a look over the last few pages of this thread for more details.
Darren
Thanks for your reply last week

You said it would be a good idea to check in early. The flight leaves at 10am so they say check in opens 3 hours prior
I f we get to the airport early say 6am would we be allowed to check in or is it 7am on the dot
Cheers for the advice
