Flight Only / Airline and Airports

xdaniellex,

It's impossible to say if a flight will be delayed or not, there are too many variables and my crystal ball doesn't work!

I was sat in the middle seats for 14 hours to PVR earlier this year and as far as middle rows go, FCA's are the best I've ever sat in. I still wish I had a window seat though, 26 hours on board an aircraft for the round trip and no window is just no fun :(

Some interesting and reassuring news of the benefits of FCA investing in a new 767 for 2007.... Monday's flight to Cancun ex East Midlands was delayed four hours. A pain for everyone on board and waiting at Cancun, but the following day's flight to the Dominican Republic, scheduled for the same aircraft, was operated by FCA's spare 767 flown up from Gatwick, and so left on time.

So, as long as they're not REALLY unlucky and have two aircraft delayed, there is a plan B.....

I must confess a vested interest as I'm off to SFB with FCA from EMA in August. The SFB flight is the last one operated by the FCA 767 each week out of EMA, and was concerned about catching the delays from the 3 previous flights...

Booked FC package to Goa, phoned to ask about upgrade on flight to be told that it's £219 - when I asked for breakdown, she told me it's £179 + £40 air passenger duty. I told her I had already paid £40 on my invoice and she said it's to pay again when you upgrade !!!!!!!!!!! Anybody shed any light on this ? Thanks

oap,

It's because the premium upgrade is classed as 'business class' and the air passenger duty is double that of an economy ticket. APD is £40 economy on long haul and £80 business/premium class.

Hi Darren,
I travel Qatar Airways Buisness class and its a cheek to class Star Premium as Buisness Class its Premium Economy no more no less.

I fully agree with you, there's a gulf between charter premium and business class but those are the rules. Don't you just love Gordon Brown :zip

Is everything hunky dory for the FCA flight to Sanford, Saturday morning?
i.e. no tech problems, delays, change of plane. I know its still 2 days away but panic is setting in.

jaxter,

No problems as far as I'm aware.

Darren - thanks for info but if I book package on line with upgrade , it's £150 each difference between SC and SCP and yet they still tell me it's £219 to upgrade - I am completely baffled.
Reply
oap,

I don't work for FCA so I can't really comment on pricing, but I would guess if you are booking the holiday with the premium upgrade, you'll get a discount. If you book the SCP upgrade seperately as an add on, you'll not receive any discount and pay the full price.

Personally, I'd save the money and put it towards activities once you get there because Star Class is excellent and its not worth the upgrade. That's just my opinion though.

Just a little confused over FC baggage allowance.

We are on a premier holiday departing 20 July and have just checked the baggage allowance on the tickets, it states 30kg per person, but according to their web it states 23kgs per person, anybody know what it actually is?

Might not need the other 7kgs but the Mrs is taking the "kitchen sink"!!

Citizen98,

It depends when you booked your holiday. If booked before 14th Decmeber 2006, they will honour your original booking and give you 30kg. If booked after this date, it will be 23kg. If is states 30kg on your tickets, then that's what you'll have.

I'm flying to Palma on Saturday with First Choice. Could anyone give me some info on in-flight entertainment on short-haul flights. Other years I checked the website but inflight page has been deleted.

Cheers...

MallorcaMan,

Scotlad posted the current IFE a couple of pages ago but it had to be deleted for copyright reasons. The IFE page FCA had on their website was quite good. It's a pitty they couldn't keep it up to date (the reason why it was deleted).

Hi Darren,
As it is first come first served for Star Class on the outward leg do you get the same seat on return leg or is it the same first come first for the window??
Reply
qatarman,

I can't say for sure, but in my experience its the same seats on the return flight as the outbound flight. It has been both times when I've travelled long haul with them (these were pre-booked seats though).
