Your laptop would be part of your 5kgs hand luggage and not an extra item.

Be aware that Thomas Cook only allow one piece of hand baggage so if you take a laptop, you couldn't take a handbag as well. The only way round this is to take a holdall which would hold both items as long as it is within the dimensions accepted by TC.

Thanks 4 the welcome... and the information that I checked, and u are correct. This will cause me a big headache because despite having shipped stuff there are still a few items that I really must have, and the computer is a 'Must' since i will be using SKYPE to keep in contact with peeps all over the place. I will investigate buying an extra 5k or buying a bag. When I arrive from a day of lazing on the beech I'll let u read how I got on. Thanks

You can pay for an additional 5kgs hold baggage. The details are in the earlier link.

I would suggest a holdall of the correct dimensions so it can hold your laptop and handbag, but it may be difficult keeping the weight under 5kgs. Not all check in staff weigh hand luggage, but you must be prepared for it just in case.

Two days before I leave. My friend decided to take the coach from Victoria directly to Bristol Airport. Will write with details later in case others want to do it this way.
While in Gambia we would like to take a day trip to Senegal, leaving from Bara early morning and return evening. A person there has quoted about 30,000D.? Does anyone know if this is reasonable for three people travelling, anyone has some suggestions, please.

I will be staying much longer than my friend and will be wanting to explore more in the coming weeks/months that would include not only places in Gambia but surrounding countries. Any ideas about costs and getting there? for a reasonalbe price. I realise that 'Reasonable' is relative.

HI t cook will hit you for overweight,always been strict with me and I have a wheelchair and meds,the laptop is one piece of hand luggage and they have wieghed that in the past ,cheers maxie
