From what I remember, the tunnel from the Hilton doesn't come out directly in the terminal, but leads you into the car park area and you then emerge into the terminal from there. (Unlike the Sofitel in the North terminal where the tunnel emerges right inside the terminal next to, I think, Boots.) So check your terminal map for the car park entrance!

I also remember it being really draughty and having to run like a young gazelle to get into the airport before the cold wind gets to you.

Is the Holiday Inn anywhere near this tunnell or Gatwick South, would we be able to walk ?

David, the Holiday Inn is about 0.5 miles away from the airport.There is a regular shuttle bus that runs to the airport and costs £3 each way from what I remember.

Will be staying at russ hill hotel at gatwick the night before my holiday can any 1 recommend any nice pubs or resturants that are nearby that are child friendly, many thanks in advance. vickie

Hi Vicjayhay - There's a bus that goes from the Russ Hill into the village (5mins). There's a lovely pub called the Greyhound, which is family friend & serves nice food at a decent price. Ask the driver for the Greyhound - the stop is almost opposite it.

Not really. At least not well anyway. If you stand on the roof of your car, look right along the M23 (hotel very close to the motorway) - two junctions north is the airport. You might catch sight of the aircraft either on approach or immediately after take-off (depending which way they are using the runway that day) - but you are not that close.

Gatwick Airport

I am travelling for the first time with my 3 month son in a couple of weeks. To make the journey a little easier I was thinking about driving to Gatwick airport. Whilst searching for parking I can across a Gatwick meet and greet who are offering very competitive prices. I was just wondering if anyone has used them before? (gatwickmeetandgreet.net)

Anita cant help with meet and greet, we normaly use off site parking from Clophill farm its about 3 miles from the airport and run mini busses to and throw a very good [and reasonably priced service

Found this site and the shuttle runs every 1hour,10-15mins travel time and only costs a £1

Has anyone used the executive suites in the North Terminal, we have free access as part of our booking with Thomsons for our holiday to Mexico, how strict are they with the dress code as I normally like to wear shorts (combats / cargo type) when travelling ................
