Sunday 22 April Had our usual day at the Oceanic. Done nothing in particular except lie about and bake in the scorching heat

I meant to say earlier I got one of the lads at the shack to get me my own Indian sim card, its on the Idea network and cost 995 rupees and thats a lifetime sim card, so when we go back in November I can top up with that card, saves time and no hassle.
We decided to go to Candolim tonight cos I thought we might pop into Mai Tai and see if anyone was there. Ate at a place called Ruffles (just round from Mai Thai, on the main road). We both decided on traditional British food for a change. About 9ish I left the restaurant and walked round to Mai Thai but no HTers were there so we spent the night in Ruffles. Both had a two course (traditional) meal with several vodkas and some nice cocktails and the bill for the whole evening was 1463 rupees. Music was still being played about 11ish and the police drove by, so music very swiftly switched off and all the windows and door slammed shut, ive never seen Indian waiters move so fast in my life

Left at 12 to get a taxi back to Arpora. Stopped a taxi and asked how much it would cost, he told me some ridiculous price like 350 rupees which I just

Driving back to the hotel we saw a good night going on in our 'local' Sebastians. Jumped out the taxi and joined in the fun. Met some great girls from Manchester and had a fab night in there with 'Elvis'. That wasnt his name, but my friend Emily named him that. He was the bar person who was playing the guitar and we were all singing along to Elvis songs among others. Another late night but great fun.
Monday 23 April Had a lazy morning and decided to have a day at the pool. Never usually lie at the pool in Goa, cos there is so much happening at the beach, but it made a nice pleasant change. Had fantastic massage at beauty parlour, cost about £10 but professionally done and much better than the beach shacks. Emily also had her hair done, but the burst matress thingy that Irishman mentioned in another post was how I would describe the outcome

Also had a nice two course lunch at the hotel restaurant, obviously more expensive than the shacks, but enjoyable nonetheless.
Made some phone calls home from the phone at the hotel reception, very cheap to use.
Tonight we decided to go to Banana Moon in Calangute for something to eat. Banana Moon was recommended by other HTers. Quite a down to earth pub/restaurant with a singer as well. Prices were great! A 3 course dinner was 200 rupees per person. Lots of variety and choices of food. Excellent value for money. We had a couple of drinks as well and the total bill was only 540 rupees.
Another early night. Got a taxi back to the hotel. Had a couple of drinks in Sebastians and then off the bed ......
