 Wonder if anyone can help. When I last flew to Goa I had very bad swollen ankles, they lasted the full 2 wks & although they didnt cause me too much discomfort they didnt look very nice & you can imagine I got quite a few comments about them. This wasnt my first trip & I always wear flight socks so I don't know why I had the problem.I would appreciate any info on the best socks to wear so hopefully my next trip in March 2011 I won't have this problem.xx

might be worth mentioning it to your doctor.
I would guess all flight socks are much the same, except for the ones bought cheap in a market etc.
My only problem with flight socks is that they leave compression marks on my legs for a couple of hours after I have taken them off, so my legs look like corrugated cardboard !

If its only a problem after flying it will probably be due to sitting in the same position for long periods more info here http://www.ehow.com/how_4693543_avoid-swollen-feet-flying.html

Hi sent 2 christmas cards in one envelope to my friend in Saligoa she just rang me to say santa must of delivered her card as the envelope had only their first names on it and no address :think The thieving post office must of opened the cards took out the one for the baby, and put the other card in an envelope with just their christian names on it and NO address. I also sent presents for the new baby posted 11/10 and they never got those either :(

:think It would have to be at the final stage of the journey in India or the envelope would never have left Britain let alone be delivered to an address in India.

Surely the VERY final point of the system, unless the recipients had very unusual names!

None of the stuff I have sent has ever got there, so now I don't send anything!
(most of the stuff I have sent has had no value whatsoever, so I console myself with the thought that the thief must have been really miffed!)

My friend is english and married to a Goan she has a double barelled name (English-Indian) I am not going to send anything else, so I am going to take her baby's christmas present with me! They must of thought there was money in the cards i'm just annoyed that they took out the 'babys 1st Christmas' card.

Well my nephew & his girlfriend so enjoyed their first time at our apartment (Highland Beach) said it was the best holiday ever.Elephants,Monkeys,Crocodiles etc.Fitted so much into the 2wks stay.On a down side though he came home & after a few days of feeling really poorly :cry attended hospital where he was put into isolation only to find he had Typhoid. It was a very worrying time for all the family.Iam so glad to say he's doing well,at home but still tons of anti-biotics.We asked him if he would go again & he said DEFINITELY !!!!Just shows you nothing puts you off a repeat visit XX ;)

I hope he is better soon too. Just shows the importance of getting all the recommended jabs before you go.

Sorry to read about your nephew Franny and hope he recovers quickly.

Also sorry to hear about your nephew Franny and wish him a speedy recovery. Did he have the recommended jabs bfore he went? I went to the docs yesterday thinking mine were all up to date and had to have the typhoid one..ouch... but I'm glad I checked.

Sorry I've not replied to all the best wishes for my nephew but he was fine, really ill for some time & tons of anti-biotics but he's well now.He did have all the jabs he was supposed to have so don't know how it happened, but it just shows you how easy it is to pick things up abroad,no matter how careful you may have been.Anyhow on another note :que ,does anyone know if we can buy duvets anywhere,we need to do a bit of home shopping when we are there in March & was wondering if they were available to buy or is this not an item you would find easy taking into account the heat :think .All help would be very appreciated.xx

This year, more than ever, I have watched young lads going round the shops and beaches with gold statues and covered in "paint". With a whip demanding money! Thing is, everyone gives it to him because they think he will put a curse on them!! Two of my beach seller friends was sitting talking to us today, and he came and hit them on the head with this whip, and they paid him!!!! We told them not to, but it makes it awkward for them! He nearly got more than money off me and O/H!! It makes my blood boil!!! :rage
