Hi Chilly

We had to missed the quiz this Thursday but went to Rustlers in Calangute on Friday for a quiet meal and there was two Dragon's that looked a lot like Mr and Master Dragon doing the quiz, we achieved a similar result to you but did not even get the bog roll, which can be very useful out here :rofl :rofl

I like the HT meet on a Wednesday night and its good to catch up with everyone again.
BUT I dont think I would like to go to the Carvery two nights in a row :really sorry just my opinion.
Nothing to do with the HT people who are great, just the fact that its in the same location again. Plus we dont stay in Candolim when we are in Goa, so its a bit of trek back there for the 2nd night in succession.

I agree with Gemma to some extent. For us who only come out for 2-3 weeks we have a long list of places to visit to eat in but i will still try and call in for a drink after eating on the Thursday evening, probably too late for the quiz. Although we stay in Calangute we do tend to eat mostly in Candolim expect for the few days around Xmas when its a no go with taxis and traffic.

Thats perfectly understandable, i daresay we would be the same if we were here for 2 or 3 weeks holiday... and we like to try other places too... so no worries ;)

Hello to everybody!
I should say that it is really difficult to decide what places to visit when you go to a country for the first time. The same was with me, when a friend of mine invited to join him on his trip to Goa. I like travelling that is why it was easy to agree) Inspired with our coming trip I started to search for the information in the Internet about Goa... It doesn't matter how many sites I've looked through, but in a few days I've realised that it's almost impossible to choose at least few places, because everything was really interesting...So, I needed to give up for a while and think everything over... In a few days a letter from my aunt arrived. She was on her business trip in South West India. She wrote lots of interesting things about India, its historic sites, people, nature and culture. And it was she who advised me :tup to visit one marvelous place in Goa as she knew I am devoted to sports. Talked to my friend we decided to visit Ashtanga yoga retreat centre, where my aunt spend some days.
So, we have spend two amazing weeks there practicing yoga , enjoying our life :cheers , Indian nature :sun2 , culture and people))
This summer we are going to India again, though we haven't decided on the place yet :think .

I popped in to the meet at the carvery last week, our only opportunity whilst we were in Goa. Unfortunately we had already promised to attend a BBQ at Antonio's shack and he needed numbers to make sure it was viable. We had a great evening but I would have loved to have met a few more HT'ers as we had to leave before more than half a dozen had arrived.
The Carvery looked very nice and the price of R65 for a 650ml Kingfisher was the cheapest I was charged all holiday. The average in Candolim is R90 now !

Unfortunatly Dave the meets dont start till 8 pm and we was there just before 8 PM,you only met Lassiegirl and o/h brfore you left and we passed you as we came in according to Lassiegirl, but not knowing what you look like walked past you. There is a blackboard outside for HTers to sign in as they arrive,
i seem to remember the same thing happened with you last year. better luck next time,There was about 50 people at the meet that night last week
pity you couldnt stick around :tup

A bit off topic, but,
Does anyone know if you can get venison in Goa?
The reason I ask is that I am quite partial to a bit of Bambis mum now and then.
I have just been offered 8 legs of venison for £40, is this two dear?

It would probably a bit to DEER to serve in Goa!
