if you have a pre existing medical condition that has been confirmed to both you and your doctor and diagnosed before you take out the policy/holiday then that will not be covered.
if this is a new condition that caused the cancellation of your holiday and has not been previously diagnosed then you should be able to recover your money
any query please pm me if i can assist i will

Bluemoon I agree, take it further. Your doctor/consultant should be able to give you a letter confirming that you did not have a pre-existing condition on the date when you took out your insurance.
I had to cancel this years trip to Goa for health reasons and did note that my insurance not only stated that I had to disclose any pre existing medical conditions but that I also had to disclose if I had visited a GP or Consultant whereby findings would be unknown or further investigation would be needed.
I would recommend all people check the small print of their particular insurance as this kind of "small print" is becoming more the norm.
This very thing had me purchase another insurance as the first one had this in the T&Cs and at the time I sought advice from a GP about a Lymph node that was expanding. This could have been anything or nothing at the time but the Doc gave a course of Anti Biotics. Just by sheer chance my annual insurance ran out and I renewed two days after that GP visit.
I eventually found out what I had and consequently I have purchased another insurance where I can now state what was wrong and disclose a pre existing condition. I just thought that it is not worth losing that sort of money should I have to make a claim.
All that being said if your particular insurance does not mention you having visited a GP and/ or waiting for any findings and needing this to be disclosed, it seems unfair. they may be using the date of renewal and seeing a Doc as more than a coincidence which if they are is unfair as my example shows.
I hope you get sorted though.
All peeps check the insurance though!!
if they are the ones called kalms, one of my friends swears by them

Hi all, not been on here for a few weeks as i had complications from my surgery and have had to have another brain op, so I haven't been able to chase up my insurance dispute. Hopefully by next week I should be a little better to start the ball rolling, many thanks for nall your advise.
I wish you well with your recovery and really hope you get sorted with your insurance. Have you considered CAB?
Heres wishing you a very speedy recovery Bluemoon. Take care.
You are not normally covered for any undiagnosed condition and you should really have declared it to your insurance.
However there is nothing to be lost in taking it further.
Ask Axa for a Final Decision letter and follow their complaints procedure which should be on their website and on the policy. Once you have exhausted that then you can take it to the Ombusdman.
Good luck with it and with your health.

Hope you get something sorted Bluemoon, I am sure you could do without all this added pressure. I hate insurance companies (sorry if you work for one!). The company I had my home insurance with put up my premium just because I made an enquiry about making a claim. They did me a favour though, cancelled it and got a better deal. I don't like to think about all the money I have paid out for insurance policies for one thing or another in my lifetime and never made any claims. Unfortunately, a necessary evil. Hope you soon have some good news about your health.
Luci I booked the holiday 10/2/10 - I was diagnosed 10/3/10 after having a scan 48 hours earlier, so I couldn't declare a condition I didn't know I had !!
But what date did you first consult a doctor with symptoms? That is the crucial date.
All baffling I know but very costly if they don't pay out
Did you declare the Menieres and have that accepted on your policy?
debt to the butcher. The butcher takes the £50 and runs down the street to repay his debt to the pig farmer. The pig farmer takes the £50 and heads off to pay his bill at the supplier of feed and fuel. The guy at the Farmer's Co-op takes the £50 and runs to pay his drinks bill at the local pub.The publican slips the money along to the local prostitute drinking at the bar , who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer him "services" on credit. The hooker rushes to the guesthouse and pays off her room bill to the owner with the £50.The guesthouse manager then places the £50 back on the counter so the rich traveller will not suspect anything. At that moment the traveller Comes down the stairs, picks up the £50 states that the rooms are not satisfactory, pockets the money and leaves.
No one produced anything. No one earned anything. However, the whole town is now out of debt and looking to the future with a lot more optimism.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how the Indian Government's stimulus package works!!!
Cheers Keith
Love it
That made me smile,
