Goan Mad Tony I wouldn't go near Baga any more its a horrible place.
I have friends who had an apartment built out there and they have given it to their Goan friends as a gift as they never want to return there after last Christmas. We all keep saying the Goans must do something, I believe they powerless like us In my opionion it is the Indian Government who are raking in our cash and no doubt some of them are responsible for the mess Goa (Baga and Calungute) is in now but they don't care because they have cashed in on the profits. And that is the way I see it going until someone important takes up Goa's case or it sinks under the mass of sewerage and rubbish tourism has created.
Lyn
PS AND I still love the place and will continue visiting as long as I'm able

goanluv, I always stay in the South, don't like the North, to much like Blackpool and that's not what I travel 5000 miles for

They will always be powerless while the country is being run by corupt politicians whose only worry seems to be how much money they can cram in their back pockets It does seem more and more people are getting fed up with the North, especially Baga/Calungute

With you on this one Lyn

@ Goanluv
thanks Elliebee I have now!!!!!!!!!!!!oooops
Big Neil, don't go.........we have had OUR words on this topic before so I am not going to go there. However, I will say that we are ALL passionate about Goa and we do see what you see and we also agree with a whole lot of what you say BUT we will never ALL agree on how things can be changed and whether WE as tourists can influence positive change. It is sad to see things happening there that WE don't like and it's even sadder to see the impact that badly managed tourism has on the lives of our (ordinary, like us) Goan friends. Corruption is a way of life from the bottom to the top over there, within all classes, and not just in the state of Goa. The whole of India is the same, this is how the country runs. This issue is not just about about our holidays it's a wider social issue that runs a lot deeper. Until someone at the top recognises, addresses and says "enough's enough", - it will continue. Better go before I get thrown out for being It has been interesting to read everyones views and I look forward to further debates of this type if and when we meet up in Goa - Happy Holidays everyone.
Well said fizzy2
I'm always happy Lisa I'm happy today because i have 3 days off from work But I am ecstatically happy when I am on holiday in Goa No point in getting upset about things I can't change I'd rather put energy into those things I can change We keep bumping into each other - are you doing the same shifts as me?
I'm always happy Lisa
Good girl!! I like happy people
Yea i am at my happiest when i am in Goa, i can just chill right out like i never seem to anywhere else.
And i am same as you, why waste your energy and time on worrying about things that are out of our power to change?
Bumping into each other? We do!! I do work shifts but only got today off unfortunately. Enjoy your 3 days off.
PS Hows the peacock? Gonna get thrown off with you fizz!
