TC,
Great deal, every day at $69!!! That is awesome. I just checked our dates in August for that as well and yes, weekends are $69 as well which frankly is unbelieveable. I just wish we were staying a bit longer in LV now (especially at those rates) but changing the airfare would be £75 each and that money can be put to better use in those dates already booked in LV.
2 weeks in the MGM? Lucky old you.
Ju
For me MGM has everything I want for a Vegas holiday so am more than happy to spend the whole 2 weeks there, in fact it will be nice for a change not to have to worry about checking out and in somewhere else!
Cheers,
TC
I just looked mine up and it's $69 per night for my dates. However........I think I'm going to stick with the Celebrity Spa Suite at $99, $89, $89, $99, $99. However....maybe I should re-check that offer in case the price has dropped....???
Typical Vegas, just when you think you got a great deal another one comes along! I must admit, I considered going for the Spa suite deal still but I felt those prices were just too good to turn down. I can't see it getting any better now though.......unless they want to upgrade my flights for me
TC
It will be at least 10 months until we can go back, God willing. Even though we have a cruise and two other holidays booked I still can't stop thinking about Vegas.
luci
I'm thinking I'm only paying $20 for two nights and $30 for the other 3 on top of the $69....and I'll get more space, a spa bathroom and a fridge However your weekend nights will probably be significantly more.
Only thing I'm thinking is there's no offer out for those dates for Signature yet.....would that confuse you again???
The $69 at MGM is starting to make my Orleans $75, $38x5 look like worse value....however we really like the Orleans, and we'll have a car for 4 of the 5 actual days we'll be there. We'll arrive at 11pm on the 6th, recover on the 7th and prob use the shuttle to go over to strip, then we will get a car on the 8th.
Planning to do Laughlin this time. Also planning to book flights for a day trip to San Francisco. Will go about 7am and come back about 9pm. Will do that around the 16th from MGM. We've got 13 nights this year with flights for just over £1600, which is really good, considering the flights were over £500 each this year!
Our flights were £625pp!!! LHR-Houston-Albuquerque and Las Vegas-Houston-LHR. I am glad I booked when I did though, they went up to £875pp soon after and have now settled around £750pp!!! I guess it is August but I have never paid that much for flights apart from our round the world ticket in 2006, which got us from London-Cape Town-Singapore-Sydney-Christchurch-Fiji-Cooks-LA and home from Boston.
On the subject of great rates, I did smile to myself when I saw the recent Sam's Town deal @ $26.99 per night including 2 for 1 Steak and eggs, $5 Blackjack vouchers etc. It's a long way from the strip and personally I wouldn't stay there because of that but what an incredible deal. If people can put up with the shuttles to and from the strip, it can save a fortune
Best of luck sorting out your San Francisco day trip. I think I mentioned Southwest before, they would be my first choice but it is worth checking the major carriers as well. I am slightly jealous of people going to San Francisco, it is one of my favourite cities in the world!!
By the way I was tempted by Laughlin as well this time but have decided against it. The offer was $5pp (it did used to be free) and you get transportation and a free lunch buffet for that. Good deal, but time is against us to give over a whole day for a trip there.
Enjoy the Spa Suite. I'm sure you will love the extra space, and the bathroom has to be seen to be believed.
Roll on 4 weeks time!!!
Have you looked at the most recent Fat Wallet deals thread? Apparently that deal you have booked (all days @ $69) was a glitch in the system and it has since been removed.
It looks as though they are honouring bookings made using the code, but for peace of mind it might be worth a call just to confirm?
I knew it was too good to be true!!! $69 is obviously not unheard of during midweek but I have never seen rates that low at weekends!!!!
Good on ya. Think quick, get the bargains.
Ju
On TA one contributor spoke to them directly and they have said they will be cancelling all bookings made using this code and will be sending letters out . In the same thread someone else spoke to them and they said they would honour all bookings.
If anybody else has taken up this offer I would seriously consider ringing the MGM to confirm. It seems there are going to be some very annoyed people if the former is true, many of which have paid cancellation charges at other hotels to take up this MGM offer.
Fingers crossed for TC and anybody else who have booked this rate. From a PR perspective, this is not going to look good on MGM if they decide to cancel the bookings.
Best of luck
Ju
to confirm or hope for the best!!!!cancelled a booking at The Golden Nugget to take
up the offer, staying at Hilton Grand Vacation Club the following week[TIMESHARE]
Ann
My worry would be that if you cancel something else (which is no longer available) then book MGM - then you would be left with neither of your options!
TeeCee - hope you do get the offer, but if not I hope you haven't lost out on anything better.... I also hope they are still honouring the Visa rate!!!
I won't post the link to the TA website thread in case of offending the mods on here, but it's the topic of conversation over there and it's easily found.
Ann, I would ring them and check for yourself. Chinese whispers never did anybody any good and it would be nice to have confirmation for your own peace of mind. Interestingly you are in the MGM (hopefully) the two days before we get there (we arrive on the 17th), to be honest we were looking at extending our stay the into the next weekend (22nd) using those MGM rates as it was such a great deal. However, I am pleased we steered clear now (got $69 rate Sun-Fri on another code).
The best advice has to be to ring the MGM and get an update on what is happening.
Please feel free to post the link

9 pages and counting. I do hope this turns out well for those that booked at this deal.

There are a few we don't allow but that's usually because they won't allow links from their forums to ours
*Oops! Copied text removed. Links are fine, copying and pasting from other websites isn't though I'm afraid. Most forums (ours included) copyright their content making the copying and pasting of that content illegal. Sorry!*
I asked the question for a definitive answer and this is the most recent reply. It doesn't look good.

I think anybody who follows that link will see the worst case scenario has been confirmed. All bookings made during the "glitch" are being cancelled.
Yesterday I put our dates into that code and added the weekend and it was coming out at $69 for all the dates. Now the Friday and Saturday are $149.
It really was too good to be true, and I feel sorry for the people who are affected by this and hope they can sort something out. At the end of the day it is still Vegas and there is still a lot of good value to be had (just not as good as it seemed at weekends)!!!!!
the offer was a mistake.HT forum was down on my PC so unable to inform untill now as
its just come back on.
Have now booked The Carriage House for $99 pleased as its a suite and not just a room.
Hope all of you that booked the offer find something as good.
Ann
Glad you got something sorted out. I just took a look at the Carriage House website and it looks very nice. $99 for weekends is a good deal and only a short walk from the strip.
It seems that some people have got very angry with MGM over this "glitch" rate. At the end of the day it is all very unfortunate, but I think for some people to state their intention to never stay at an MGM/Mirage property again is seriously way over the top. A lot of people are also mentioning that the $69 rates are a no go, but it purely is just those booked using that bad code. There are still loads of midweek $69 MGM deals to be had in August and September.
I too hope everybody has got something sorted, and I would be keen to hear what TeeCee has decided to do now.
Roll on 4 weeks time!!

I gave them a call and they told me a different story.....someone had created a false MGM page and took bookings - that worried me a bit at first because I thought that would enable them to get all the credit card details.....but then if it was a false page and no actual bookings were made, MGM wouldn't be sending mails out saying they had to CANCEL my booking! Methinks they are covering their backsides somewhat!
Oh well, back to waiting for the great deal.....the Spa suite one looks good, I just need the prices to come down for my second week and I'll be happy with that.
One more thing, when I called the MGM reservation line, the lady said to me
'Would you like me to give you some prices for the dates you previously booked'?
I said 'Yes Please'
"That would be $179 a night for the 14 nights, but we can do something for you.....we can offer you $140 a night for the 14 nights"
My reply......"Thanks, I'll look elsewhere"!!
Maybe they ought to check their own deals every now and then!
The old adage is true.....If it looks too good to be true, it probably is!!
Cheers
TC
