This is more a question for the Flights forum. Yes, you can take and consume your own food and drink on aircraft (alcohol purchased in duty free being the exception). Bear in mind security restrictions if bringing things through security. It's Onur Air that have stopped complimentory meals (if you could ever call a piece of cold chcken and a couple of lettuice leaves a meal!).

Thanks i was just thinking of a sandwich. As i know about the restrictions on drinks.
We always take our food - usually a couple of sandwiches and my famous boiled egg and a bag of crisps (friends laugh at me but boiled egg lasts for ages and doesn't go soggy so I can keep them until I get to apartment if I haven't eaten them and have them for a snack later )
According to the Thomas Cook website I am allowed 5k handbaggage allowance which must be one bag only. So I have to put my handbag into my flightbag. I`m sure I read somewhere that Manchester airport have relaxed the handbaggage rules and we are allowed a handbag as well as a flight bag. Is this correct and if so, who`s rules do I follow?
Depends on the airline - you will have to go along with whatever Thomas Cook say.
Hi im new to disposable contacts. Can I carry them in hand luggage being as they are in liquid, do I have to put them in a clear plastic wallet like other liquids. Thanks for any info.
Oh, Thats annoying! I think Thos. Cook are overly strict. I know they want to make money on excess baggage but if other airlines like jet2 can give you 18kg hold bagage and 10kg handbaggage why can`t they? I know there is no answer to it. I`m just having a rant. By the time I`ve put all my medication and my handbag and a book for the plane in my flight bag (which by their rules is smaller than any one elses) theres no room for anything else!
I keep my disposable lenses in the packaging they are delivered in, and pop the whole package inside a jiffy bag in my suitcase. They've always arrived in one piece and it's one less thing to carry around in hand luggage. You might want to put just one set in your hand luggage, in case your suitcase is delayed for any reason. They should probably go in your clear "liquids" bags.cfc fan wrote:Hi im new to disposable contacts. I am flying out to Palma with my family in the next week, and I have a quick question. Having checked the Dept. of Transport website to see if my 10 year old daughters asthma inhalors can be taken on in hand baggage, the information regarding this was unclear.
Can anyone tell me if Asthma Inhalors are part of the restricted "liquids".
Thanks...
Whether it's liquid or not (actually an aerosol!), it is classed as medical equipment so that's fine.

Can we take bottled water through security or can we still only buy it once through security?
Thanks
John
PS
Not sure what restrictions if any are still in place

Hi John .. you can't take bottled water through airport security checks, it would have to be bought afterwards. Current restrictions are shown on page 1 of this topic. All that has changed this year is that some airlines and airports now allow two pieces of hand luggage, whilst others still only allow one.

Our hand luggage including the wife`s handbag were weighed at Malaga airport on Sunday .We were flying with Thomson.
Flying from Bristol and only allowed 1 piece of hand luggage . I'm allowed 5kg's of hand luggage, but reading the airports security rules if i have a hand bag that would be classed as my hand luggage .
If i was to use a holdall and put my hand bag inside that aslong as it was under the 5kg's would i get away with it . I like to have my hand bag with my bits and pieces in and use hand luggage for the things that i cant fit in the case .
Hope this makes sense to what i'm asking
thanks for any help
Lynne.
Yes your handbag will have to go inside your holdall and the total for your holdall with the handbag inside it is 5kgs.
i was surprised Bristol still have restrictions , as i'm sure Cardiff lifted their's
All airports still have hand luggage restrictions Lynne, as shown on page 1 of this topic. All that has changed lately is that some airports and airlines now allow two pieces of hand luggage whilst others still only allow one. But in addition to your 5kg weight limit, there will still be restrictions on contents (primarily liquids) and dimensions.

Flying from Gatwick on Saturday with FCA
Does this airport resticted you to one piece of hand luggage and the handbag has to fit inside? Or am I allowed two
