Failing all that you could always go to your nearest bookmakers and bet a horse called EVASIVE in the 2000 guineas stakes in the 3.20 at Newmarket on the 2nd of May (each way), ;) :D

Other posters have offered you some very good tips on how to work on quite a strict budget in Turkey. After reading your post it makes me feel as though I am far too extravagant. Truthfully last year in Marmaris my daughter and I and 2 granddaughters were spending around £48 between the 4 of us daily for soft drinks. Hard to believe, isnt it. Our drinks worked out at approx £1.50 each and we were drinking around 8 a day each. Our fridge was stocked with drinks so we could have gone upstairs to our apartments but in all the heat that seemed like hard work. The owner didnt like people drinking their own drinks at the pool either and gave some people a ticking off if he saw them eating/drinking anything brought to the pool area.

Hope you enjoy your holiday. Good luck in your budgeting. I am sure you will find ways of making ends meet.

Food in Marmaris isn't expensive. One of the best things about Marmaris is the gorgeous food at such a reasonable price. What is expensive is the drinks. SC or HB you will still have the problem of drinks at night time. I managed on £300 for a week SC but I would have never managed that if we had eaten out every day and night. There is no way anyone can live on £300 a week SC.

£400 for two weeks HB, I managed that 5 years ago in Tenerife so again with the pound being weaker I think it will be tough again. Im a student and Im Scottish! :cheers I know how to budget.

Not really an answer to above but connected, I have a notice from Nationwide flex account that cash withdrawals outside Europe will not be free anymore, 1%charge from (i think) June 1st.

You sure???
When I asked in the local branch I was told that free was for Europe only, and as Turkey is not in Eurpope either geographically or financially I assumed that it was excluded.
Pleased to be wrong in this instance though :)
edit
just phoned Nationwide out of curiosity and their answer is " Turkey is included in Visa Europe", so it's still free.

Luci posted this link a while back.

Nationwide

It gives a list of each country and whether a fee will be charged.
