The holiday didn't start off well, I was feeling ill, it was my worse nightmare being ill on the day of travel, I won't go into details except to say my taxi driver was glad that I'd grabbed a plastic bag from the cupboard as I left the house.
I was sat in row 30 on the plane and noticed the back row was empty, so as soon as the seatbelt sign went off I moved and was able to lay down and sleep for a couple of hours. I must have looked dreadful because one of the cabin crew brought me a drink of water.
The fight took 3 hours and 15 minutes because we were kept in the holding position for 20 minutes due to Malaga Airport being too busy.
We landed at terminal 2 and had to be bussed to the terminal. Unbelievable that it turned out to be one of the quickest times that we've got out of the Airport.... The passport guy just waved everybody through and the luggage was on the belt after about five minutes.
We didn't used the transfer coach and got a taxi straight to the hotel.....where I spent the rest of the day between the bed and the bathroom....I left Dave to sort out the suitcases.....next day I was tons better.
The weather has been a bit of a mixed bag, some days it started off sunny and hot, and on a few days it clouded over in the afternoon until around 5pm and then the sun came back out until it went down.
Whatever the temperatures are showing on the Internet sites, if it says 24 or 28 degrees, add another 6 or 8 degrees for the true figure.
When we've been on the beach we've spent more time under the parasol because it's been too hot for us, (and we are both sun worshippers).... Now we can't lay out in it, like we did when we were younger, and we prefer to walk around in it now.....when it clouded over it, became oppressive and very humid.
The resort has been very busy because a major fiesta took place on the 16th (Virgen del Carmen) and there were thousands upon thousands of people here. I wouldn't like to put a figure on the numbers, but it must have been double figure thousands....in the past it's been estimated up to 30,000.
Over the weekend there was a mini fair situated on Plaza Remo and a couple of stages erected on the beach with a rock band performing on one stage and more traditional Spanish music being sung/ played on the other one.
We didn't stay to watch the procession..... We've been there and done it several times, and it doesn't change.
Yesterday we went to Malaga, good lord it was a scorchio, but there was a welcome relief walking down Calle Larios because they've suspended shade down the length of the street.
We went down to the Port and had some lunch, but disappointingly there were no cruise ships docked yesterday....there'd been one the day before and today because we can see them from our balcony as they set sail at 8pm from Malaga and they pass by on the horizon..... Usually heading down to Gibraltar.
Back on the 24th September, so not too long to wait. 😁
Hasta luego
