The hotel are very accomodating, I emailed them a request for a high up quiet room as I have to rest through the day as I am disabled and I got exactly what I needed. I'll try to find the email address for you that I used.

Hi Folks

Just managed to get a late deal for the end of August and really looking forward to the hol village algarve. Anything you would advise? we have 2 children aged 5 and 2....would you advise a pushchair over there?? We have been to the hol village Benalmedena and loved it hence the decision to try another hol village. Any advice appreciated, Cheers

If you use a buggy, spare a thought for the wee soul's bottom, it's quite rough and bumpy :really :really so take it slowly on the cobbles around the hotel. I am a wheelchair user and felt very uncomfortable at times.

Appart from that have a great time, we did!!!!!

Does anyone know if the water park pictured with the Holiday Village algarve booking on first choice website is within the complex? I've booked for a week on saturday thinking it was so I hope it is.

Yeah, there is a small water park area, has a couple of large slides and four or five small slides with some water features around a small pool area and there is also the splash area where the kids can run around (big kids can to lol). This area is separate from the main pool, it can be found oposite the front reception and carpark.

Have fun :cheers

Thanks for the reply sleepyrella... my daughter would have been heartbroken if it hadnt been there.
How far is it to walk to the beach? and which way do you go? Also is it near any shops etc?

Sorry for all the questions, looking forward to going but don't like to be unprepared.

Just while your answering all these questions, weve booked a one bed apartment and to be honest with 2 little ones we dont tend to have late nights so would you advise an email to them to ask for a room away from the pub area as someone has says it stays open till 1am? and also is the pub situated near block 1 or 2? thanks for your help

Pam, I'm not sure exactly about the beach as I am in a wheelchairs so didn't venture there, my husband did, I don't think it's too far, down towards the main road. There is a lovely beach in albufera which is a short taxi drive away. It was lovely with streets filled with shops and restraunts and a square where they have some entertainment in the evening. We did the trip a couple of times and it was very nice. If waterparks are important to you I'd recommend the trip to slide and splash, it was fantastic. Zoomarine is amazing too.

Big Erno, yes I would email them (I put the email ad previously but if you can't find it let me know), our room was on the top floor near the middle of the building, we had a lovely big balcony overlooking the countryside and golf course, it was very peaceful. Don't worry too much about it though as the main entertainment is in a separate building and the noise stops at midnight, it is a very family friendly hotel, they even have notices in the lifts to ask people to be respectful. The pub it'self is in block 1. can't remember when it shut but it never bothered us where our room was.

The beach is a fair walk away and is really quite small. Also the walk back to the hotel is uphill most of the way, a killer when it's really hot. I would recommend getting a taxi and going to a beach in Albufeira. Bigger, busier but with all amenities you would expect. You will have a great holiday.

There is more than one beach.

It takes about 15/20 minutes to walk to the beach, turn right at bottom of hill and carry on until you see a sign for Cafe Atlantic and follow that road to the bottom where there is a big car park and a beach with a shop and a couple of restaurants etc.

Hi All, Heading to the Holiday Village on August 20th, can't wait we have had monsoon rain here so far in Ireland, so some sun will be a minor miracle :sun2 ! Have read a lot of opinions on the HV and basically it seems quiet nice. Just a few queries if someone can answer. Has the building work stopped in the hotel complex, which bloc is the best to stay in, I have a 17 & 12 year olds with us and we like our sleep! What are the breakies like we were in HV in Lanzarote last year and the breakfast was mighty!

Is the weather nice out there at the mo?

In your opinion which is the best HV that you have been to, we were looking at HV Costa del Sol, we cant book HV Sun Tropical in Lanzarote tru First Choice here only HV Flamingo Beach but that would cost us €3300 for 4 SC! a bit steep.

Thanks to everyone for the post this is a very helpfull site, does anyone post pics. :tup

We were at the HV Algarve in October last year and there was no building work going on at the complex then. There was a new building going up across the road but that didn't bother us and we were in block 2 just across from it. We have been to the HV in Majorca and although both are lovely the one in Majorca had the edge when it came to the food, we couldn't fault it. The food at the HV Algarve was a bit ropey at times although the breakfasts were always good, plentiful and 'mighty'. And when we were there in October the weather was great, a couple of thunderstorms on a night time but the rest of the time it was scorchio.

Hi Irish Paul, maybe you could tell us a bit about Lanzarote Sun Tropical, we are heading there in October. We've been to Turkey HV 2 years ago and Algarve HV last year, both had fantastic good points and minimal bad points but may I point out that they wouldn't be bad to everyone, it just depends on what you need, ie the way to get between the two blocks is very steep and difficult to negotiate with wheelchair and the paving around was very uneven and painful on me behind lol. Algarve was smaller than Turkey so not so busy all the time. Turkey is a much bigger complex, the pools are great and as well as the high ropes they have a giant swing that your kids would enjoy.

Block one is the busier area where the main pool is and activities take place, the pool at block 2 appears to be quieter so good option if you like sleep.

We didn't always go down for breakfast as we like to lie in but when we did it was ok, what you'd expect from AI. We would get a toastie from the snack bar if we felt it necessary but it was soon lunchtime by the time we were organised, we kept bread, coffee and fruit juice in the appartment to get us started.

Will be interested to see what flamingo beach will be like as a holiday village as that was our first holiday abroad with our girls when they were small, that was some time ago when it was a Thomson Superfamily and we had a fabtime.

Let me know ifyou have any interesting point for us,

regards
