what a fast reply. Where in the Holiday Village do they hold the bingo, is it in one of the bars?

No need to count down as you can rely on me to do that for you......8 weeks and 4 days to go.

Unfortunately our flight is at night so we will be arriving in the middle of the night as there were no decent flights left. We only changed to the HV last Friday as we were going to the Costa Dorada. Is it okay to ask how many of you are going? We have 8 altogether. Me, hubby and our boys (5 & 3 years old) and our friends and their boys (5 and 6 months). Have you any children going??

I am just so excited about it, but still abit worried...........

They hold the bingo where ever the entertainment is taking place. During good weather outside if you are unlucky enough to have any bad evenings they will take it indoors cant remember the name of the indoor venue.

Hi - can anybody tell me if it is possible to buy day passes to the village? i.e. not be resident on the complex?

Last year they were extremely strict "Residents Only" unless they have changed tat policy from last year I would say if you are not a resident there is absolutly no chance of getting into this complex.

Hi again

Just to clarify some of the points/questions that have been raised.

Bingo is on every night and it forms part of the evening'entertainment' if that is what it can be called, some of it is okay but it is real cheese in the main. Last nights prize for a Full House was over 300 euros.

Couple of other things to bear in mind. If you need to use the on-site doctor you will pay an up front charge of 80 euros regardless of what type of holiday insurance you hold inclduing so called 'gold'policies. Having an E111 will not change this. If you wnat the Spanish equivalent of NHS you will have to go outside the complex in a Taxi.

If you want to watch the very limited TV in your Room, BBC world, Sky news, CNN you will have to get a TV remote for a 15 euro deposit. The only kids channels are in spanish and german, useful for an all English speaking hotel I thought!

The 'public'toilets are a little dirty, the are very well used during the day and not enough attention is paid to them by the cleaners, this may explain the 'bugs'that have been going around, must point out I have not heard of anybody suffering bad tummys.

The on-site shop is extortionate, I heard of some people who are on SC buying a few bits on their first day and being shocked at the prices.

If you intend for your kids to have biscuits/crisps in the room bring them with you. You can pay roughly 2 pound for a packet of digestives.

Positives are that the Pools are nice, however, the Lifeguards appear in a permanent daze so dount rely on them too much.

The train station is about a 15 minute walk, 2 mins in a cab, and it takes you to Malaga if you so wish, its is cheap and very punctual about 2 euros return to Malaga.

Will post more when I can.

Happy hols

Well, that's good, you obviously enjoyed it. Is there a difference between Holiday Village and the Holiday Palace??

Holiday palace is further up the hill, looks the same but does not have the same facilities. Bingo starts at 9pm, but when we were there you had to buy your bingo tickets (2euro) each between 8.15 and 8.45pm. Dont think they allow anyone other than than those staying in the hotel to use the facilities. karen h

We had a fantastic time and would have loved to have gone this year but circumstances didnt allow that so will just have to wait another 395 sleeps.
The person whom asked about the bingo is a care worker bringing a large group of (I think) elderly people. That is why he is interested in the bingo.
