Someone asked a question about hair braiding. Well I would not under any circumstances use the hotel hairdresser. We did and never ever again.

My daughter had just the front of her hair done, which cost £26.31 if it wasn't for going home soon after I wouldn't have done it but I had promised her. I asked earlier in the week how much it would be and she said about £16 but when we went back this price was no longer available allegedly due to changes in the exchange rates!! We also put it on a credit card for which the banks charge extra (debit cards too), so in total it was the above cost.

Within an hour one braid had come out, so I went back to her and she refused at first to redo it as I had put suncream on my daughters face, and some special hair cream over the braids but not on the bands. She had given us a note to inform us that suncream will break the bands, so because she had done this she refused, but not for long as I went mad, and medical staff ended up translating the argument. The hairdresser told me it had fallen out because of the suncream on the face. Of course I explained I hadn't put it on the bands but she said because my daughter had been in the pool and wiped her face the suncream went in her hair. I argued that it was really hot and she needed suncream on her face and would you believe it the doctor turned round and said I shouldn't have put suncream on, so I said I didn't want her to burn, to this he replied that burns are part of the holiday for us British!!!!!!!!!!

I ended up trying to redo them myself and when I got home bought some little bands and changed them all, it then lasted another week but it never looked perfect.

Either get it done before you go or there was one lady in Dalyan who did it, but not sure how much or if any good.

samanthar6 - the jeep safari sounds great - definitely on our agenda. Did you do any other trips?

the info on restaurants is useful too - might give them a go one night.

Sorry to hear about your ankle samantha - not such a good holiday momento. Still obviously didn't put you off the place. Will be stopping at boots to get more mossie stuff tomorrow.

we bought a plug in from boots which worked to keep mossies out of room,we plugged it in before going out for evening then left it on all night. sinkov the local repellent id say worked the best.buy some when you get to the hotel and then buy a few bottles in town . its only about a pound fifty in town.my hubby and kids got some bites but not hundreds.i think i was just the unlucky one.hubby says i was the only one who scratched them to peices. hes right for once. anyway the whole place makes up for them, its great.

Samanthar6 is right - the place does make up for the downside of the mossies! I've got 9 sleeps to go until our second visit and can't wait!

Boots have got their all their mossie stuff on BOGOF from 4/7-31/7 (sorry off-topic). Glad I hung on as I got it on offer last year too.

just thought id add for anyone going soon.when we were in sarigerme there wasnt a cashpoint machine there.we usually take some cash then get the rest out of atms but couldnt do that here. luckily we managed to nip into a bank at dalyan when we went on our boat trip otherwise we would have had to get a taxi into ortaca i think its called 15 kms away

We went to PP last year in the beginning of september and i am thinking of booking for this year at the end of september, Can someone tell me if the town ect is still open at this time of year. I know the cash point will have gone, this isnt a problem. Also is the market still on???

Thanks in advance

If you insist

Am now very excited. There doesn't seem to have been many people posting on their return just lately so am taking that as a good sign that the early season teething problems have been ironed out.
