The snack bar does pizza, burgers, hotdogs, salads and fresh fruit. There is also someone there that will make up toasties to order.

i dont know if anyone will know the answer to this one but is the squash that is on offer sugar free (im unble to drink anything with sugar in it )

many thanks

The main down stairs resteraunt is open at either 11:30pm or midnight, the pool bar serves drinks until midnight but the reception bar serves until 1am, as for the squash....not quite sure on that one but doubt very much if it is sugar free!
Have fun and enjoy your holiday, we did last month :D

I stuck mostly to the beer, but the occasional squash I had did taste very sweet.

Dont worry about the food and drink situation when you arrive late. We got delayed at Gatwick by 5 hours which saw us arrive at the PP at 11pm. The bars are all still open and the main retuarant opens at 11.30pm for midnight snacks. Although the choice will be limeted, you will be able to get something to eat.

Ive got a bit of a strange question now for someone to answer! Do the shops in the villiage sell the holiday t-shirts with tassles on? I think they look lovely over the childrens bikinis and protects there shoulders from the sun. I dont even know if anywhere in turkey has these tops!!! Also one more question (for now anyway!) Can I buy water pistols in the villiage for the jeep safari, or do I need to pack them in my case? Thankyou.
Reply
Yes you can buy t-shirts with tassles on from the village. We went last year to pp hotel had a great time fantastic hotel very big lots to do . You can buy water pistols too. Go and enjoy your holiday. It will be fantastic.

Leanne,

We had a Jacuzzi suite and only had 6 hangers in the wardrobe, so it would be a good idea to take some of your own.

We've just come back from the PP last Monday ( it was fab) and we had a kids den and there was only 6 hangers in there too. Lovely big wardrobe though...next time I'll take a few of my own I think.

On the subject of the squash......a few people said that it's absolutely full of E numbers and that the orange one is particularly bad and is banned in the UK (because of the E numbers content). Don't know how accurate that is to be honest but my son (2 year old) was drinking loads of the stuff at first before I realised how strong it was ( his sister was getting his drinks for him) and started to dilute it right down. He became quite sickly after a few days and improved when I diluted and rationed it.

I suppose it might not have been the juice because he wasn't used to the heat....it's heatwave central out there at the moment. Even the Turks were complaining about how hot it was for July. The reps take the temp every day and most of last week it was 45 degrees in the shade. 8)

Hank,

Did you sit around the pool bar in the evening and was the air con unit underneath the sound hut still leaking can you tell me?
Reply
I did sit most nights in the pool bar Duncan and I didn't notice any leaking air con although I perhaps wouldn't know what I was looking for to be honest. Alot of people were sat near that hut and no one seemed to be complaining....I usually sat next to the coffee and drinks machines round the corner.

Hi There,

Just wondered if anyone has recently flown on FCA534 from Gawtick to Dalaman and gone for the Premium flight Upgrade.

We have a 3 year old and a 14 week old baby with us. and we were wondering what type of aircraft FCA has been using, and what the seating config is in the Premium Cabin..

Also did you get free drinks in Premum..?

Thanks in advance

Returned from our second visit to HVT last monday. Again, we had a great time although we felt that it wasn't quite a good as last year. Can't quite pin-point why.

Just to clarify a couple of questions-

GILLG there is breakfast served in the main indoor restaurant until 11am normally although I would aim to be there no later than 10.30. We mainly ate breakfast outaside as, once again, the indoor restaturant was like a noisy school canteen and I just couldnt bear the noise and the scrum for the food. The outdoor downstairs restaurant serves breakfast til 10am and on the odd day we were a bit late they didn't mind us getting food from inside and bringing it outside.

Leanne1980 - definitely take some hangers! I learnt that lesson from last year and took plenty with me this time. The rooms that sleep 5 have 2 large wardrobes with shelving space in them. We packed fairly light this year and the space was much better!

Jokluz - I don't think there was an age restriction on the parasailing but there was a weight limit probably minimum as well as definitely maximum.

Another couple of things -

Mossies - didn't seem as bad as last year. I only saw one or two people with nasty looking bites but they are still there. Again, we got one bite between the 5 of us (me again!) so our boots tropical strength did us proud. I took 5 bottles of it for 5 of us and there was just a smidgen left over.

Spa - the guys from the spa are constantly on the prowl for new customers! The paler skinned you are the more of a target you will be! I tan very slowly so seemed to get a lot of attention even into the second week. One of them approached me about having a Turkish Bath on the same day as I'd had one off-site. I told him this and he was quite abrupt and said that "his was better". He looked a bit scared when I informed him loudly that having used "his" facilities and off-site facilities last year I could say quite catagorically that his most definitely was NOT better  Needless to say he left me alone after that

Ear Infections - were RIFE while we were there. Every third person had cotton wool in their ears. Out of the 6 children in our party 3 got infections that were diagnosed and I prevented another taking hold by using my son's drops on my daughter. The Doctor on site charges £35 for a consultation, plus £10 for a check-up 2/3 days later (there is no choice in that unless you have gone home by then!). I received penicillin medicine and antibiotic ear drops plus anti inflammatory ear drops. I was also offered pain killers but I had calpol and brufen with me so declined those. The medicines came to £14 so a total of £59 per child. The fees seemed to vary person to person too. When I went back for my son's check up they aspirated his ear so they could visualise the ear drum and tried to charge me £15 when I knew that another family had only been charged £10 for this. I didn't have my purse with me so I said I'd be back to pay and naughtily I just didn't go back  Anyway, if you kids are prone to ear problems take some waterproof ear plugs with you and use them. Also if you feel confident to self-diagnose and catch it early enough, take the dolmus bus from by the main security gate into Ortaca (nearest big town) and buy penicillin and ear drops at the chemist for a fraction of the price. We paid an excess waiver on our travel insurance and I'm glad as otherwise it wouldn''t be worth claiming as each child is classed as a seperate claim!

Entertainment to be honest was "ok" but not great. The E3 team work long hours but there is only so much one group can do. There were no outside acts other than the belly dancer etc on turkish night which was a shame. The entertainment programme runs for a week so if you are there for a fortnight it's repeated. Last year they had a 2 week rolling programme so at least every night was new.

Reps in the HV work very hard and seem to be always smiling. Most of them work well over 60 hours per week and although they get their board and lodgings thrown in I think they are paid a pittance for what is expected with them. One of the swim kids girls told me that they are always grateful for ANY left over part bottles of sun-creams, toiletries etc that you don't want to lug home with you, so if you have gone wild in the aisles at the markets and are worried about your weight allowance coming home PLEASE give these hard working girls and boys your left over bits and bobs. They really appreciate it!

I think that's all for now. Any Q's - please ask

One last thing - take plenty of high factor sun cream. We got slightly burnt on the first day with Factor 40 cream on. Added to that one of my bottles of 40 cream leaked in the case so I only had just over a bottle of 40 even at the start. As someone has already mentioned the hotel shop charges extortionate amounts for sun cream - they wanted £21.60 (54 YTL) for a bottle of SPF 50 spray. I went into the village and bought a bottle of 50 and one of 40 and paid £19 for the two so still pricey (but worth it). Superdrug etc have most of their stuff on BOGOF at present so ideally stock up before you go. We never got lower than using 20 on us, 25 on the kids and that was literally the last 2 days
