Hi all again,

Still looking to book for this hotel, probably in April 09, but, does anyone know why the actual web pages change from end of april going into may! I looked to book a swim up room with FC on the original booking page, now you can do this in april but if you go on to may, june etc it doesn't give you the option to do this when booking, it gives all sorts of other room options, but not a swim up room. I rung FC yesterday & the lady couldn't find them on her system either, well not after end of april anyway, she went on to say that maybe they are all booked.......!!

Can anyone enlighten me please OR am I just being dumb???

Thanks all.

Deb.

Edit, Sorry, I rung Thomson regarding this NOT FC, would this make a difference, I know they are the same company as such now, but they may still have different databases!

Thanks again.

Snap! We're all off to the Holiday Village next Thursday too.

We stayed at the Laguna Vista (next door to the Holiday Village) about 6 years ago and had a wonderful time. The only mistake we made was to go in August :tongue (much too hot).

We have been through the times where our teenage children first, didn't want to be seen dead on holiday with us, then refused to come on holiday at all :) .
Now they (and respective spouses) want to come with us again. :que No peace for us oldies.

Full report when we get back

hi went to the holiday village in sharm sept 2008 and had one of my best ever holidays ,i was a bit put off after reading some of the reviews but i need not have worried ,after landing in sharm i found the airport staff very arrogant and rude and thought what have we done ,the holiday village is clean and the staff very polite and happy especially rammy the barman ,10 out of the 12 of us got stomache cramps some worse than others and 2 got it after landing back in the uk ,it lasts a few days but is not as bad as we expected it to be ,we did quad biking in the dessert and cairo by bus we booked by pete in the george and dragon pub 10 mins walk to the left of the holiday village gates on right hand side of road ,pete was very helpfull and can even obtain an egyptian sim card for your mobile and has all the english footy thanks pete, the nightlife in the village is basic but the staff tried there best and the kids loved it so 10 outa 10 for them ,snorkling is a must and you dont have to be a good swimmer the waters shallow and you float anyway ,we had 6 kids aged from 7 to 16 all had a great time and would like to go back ,we all thought the food was great there are 4 restaurants as well as the buffet and snack bar all very good,on the hole i would rate the village a 3 star even tho the rooms are roomy and very clean with the biggest bed you will ever sleep in ,i would give the holiday 9/10 loosing 1 point for the stomache cramps egypt is a great place and cairo is a must (a real eye opener) were going again next year gauranteed weather and no rain bring it on :cheers

20kgs is killing me!! how are you supposed to get 14 nights worth in just 20kgs!! :que
Anyone know the excess baggage charge for FC or any tips?
Reply
think its about £9 per kg
your better of taking a golf bag with at a cost of £30return you are allowed 20kg in them just put 3 clubs and the rest of your tackle it works a treat

hi, dont worry about your luggage allowance because i am trerable when it comes to sticking to the allowance, carnt say how heavy our cases were but for 1 adult and two teenagers i took nearly sixteen outfits each and believe me the cases were heavy let alone my toiletries case but minus all the toiletries as i left what i didnt use behind we still got charged for extra on our return, but flying out there wasnt a problem they just worned me about the return.... ps 16 outfits thats 16 for the night and i didnt include day time outfits(took extra just incase, even though there for 14 days, then theres underwear, nightwear, and exclusion outfits, mad aint i) though i did get chARGED £40 ON RETURN :( WISH I WAS THERE NOW :cry

Hi debdon, it may be possible that the swim up rooms may be fully booked after may. We booked one of these rooms for our holiday in aug 2009. We actually booked the hoilday may 2008 and there wasn't many swim up rooms left then, so we were lucky. Sue.

Hi,

Thats what the girl at Thomsons said, ahh well, so be it.

Probably going in April now, there was a swim up room available then when I last checked.

Thank you for your reply.
