The HV never closes and I went in December 2007 and everything was open despite this being the quietest time.
You will enjoy it no matter what age as there is something for everyone.
There may be other nationalities there and there almost certainly will be children there as its advertised as a family hotel.
If you look on the Holiday Village thread there is loads of information.

Anyone who's been- help!! For a first visit to Egypt would this be a good place to go? We all want good snorkelling ideally directly from the hotel, plus plenty to keep the girls who will be 10 and 13 occupied. We don't want to offload then 24/7, but if we go we would like them to use the wavelength club at least a couple of times so we can have a bit of quality time for the two of us. Is it good for their age group, I know it's aimed at them, but is it well organised, will we feel happy leaving the 10 year old there?
The prices are silly really for the school holidays, so I don't want to spend a lot and feel we made a mistake. What are the family suites like does anyone know?

Thanks for any help- I've looked at so many brochures everything is blurring into one!!

I would say this is probably the best hotel in Sharm to go with children. There is so much going on during the day they will never get bored. There was children of all ages there when we went, from tiny babies to teenagers. They all seemed to be enjoying it.
The team who organised the childrens activities and clubs seemed very professional.
The hotel is on a large site with the accommodation blocks spread out amongst the beautiful gardens overlooking the sea.
I never felt "trapped" here as I have done in other AI hotels.
The sea is shallow and there is a small area of coral before the drop off.Theres a long jetty and even at the end the water is only waist deep.
I chose this hotel when we went(Nov/Dec 2007) because of the evening entertainment as the area outside the hotel was still being developed. It is now finished with lots of shops ,bars etc.
Have a look at all the photos on here and Trip Advisor and you will see how lovely it is.
If you can access Google earth there is a very good image of the hotel.

Thanks Jaytrip, that's reassuring. I'm about to book ( I think) and need urgent info. The beds in the rooms? I'm going to book a Junior suite if I can't get a kids room, but does this mean the kids have to sleep on camp beds? £4000 seems a lot to pay for them to not even have a proper bed, regardless of the facilities.

Really unsure what to do now!!

I am not sure but the kids den room are great. We had one despite only the 2 of us.
It was in Block 6 upstairs with a lovely view of the pool and sea.I think the extra beds are camp beds. The double beds are 6ft 6ins square! :rofl

Thanks Jay Trip- I can't find anything else with the wavelength club that looks as good as this, so I'm really hoping that someone can reasssure me over the camp beds!!

Thanks again

We have just came back from HV (there for Xmas and New Year), Had a great time. Stayed in a swim up room (pool was tooo cold to use, but lovely all the same). We had a room that had the sun ALL DAY from very early morning to when the sun went down (Block 13). After advice on here, I had emailed Ramy at the HV and asked him which rooms would be best at this time of year and he assured me block 13 was best (He was spot on). We did go and have a look at block 7 while we were there as my brother had stayed in that block previously, it did not manage to get as much sun the weeks we were there. I have been told that block 7 and 13 are definately the best for swim-ups and I must agree.

Good question, hadn't thought about jabs!!

Mrs A2006, do you know anything about the camp beds.No kids dens are coming up on-line so I will try the travel agents, just don't like the idea of the kids being uncomfortable for a fortnight.

Thanks

Pam :)

kids dens are really good. We went as a group of 17 so had lots of different rooms. The camp beds are just the same as ours here. Metal sprung beds. Not flimsy mattresses. The sofa is comfy too to sleep on (my niece stayed in our room one nite). Hope this helps :)

Hi Susan
We are going from 14th July for 2 weeks. Looking forward to it as we stayed at Coral Sea Resort last year which is 5 minutes away from HV. We loved CSR and was going to return but managed to book this at a decent price, and there looks more to do also. From reading the threads they both sound very similar places (obviously all one big company anyway).

To the people enquiring about jabs. It's a choice of yours if you have them or not. Though it is advisable to have them just to be on the safe side. We had them free from our GP. There is a thread on here covering all that information. :)
