Hi and welcome to HT!
The best tip is to settle down with a cup of coffee and read through this topic where you should find plenty of information.

Jay Trip, my posts were also removed and I certainly wasn't being racist. I think we need to let this one go. The mods are obviously trying to be politically correct, that's part of their job. Mike, let it drop, I know where you are coming from but it's best left. I for one would love to read your review of the Hemera so maybe you could do a review for the members who are interested? Anyway, hope you had a fab time!
Want to fly from Glasgow/Newcastle/Manchester anytime in august
Looking to book Hemera for Sept 2010 -is it only Thomsons/Portland that are booking for this hotel as I cannot find it on Thomas Cook/Direct Hols - (trying to get a good price)? Also do I run the risk of waiting too long for the 'Good Price' and run the risk of it getting fully booked - sorry lots of questions but don't want to miss out - the best price I have at the moment is for 3rd Sept 10 for 2 weeks for 2 Adults = £2028.
Sould be with Thomas cook and direct . It was when the brochures were released and I have a direct brochure here with it in . funny thing was it did disappear around the same time last year with them for some reason . Keep checking . Cosmos also do it .
We had a great time at the hemera apart from the rainy days, we loved it so much much we are going to book for next july.
Thanks - I will keep looking. Can I ask another question I have just read on another site that the Hemera is not suitable for people with mobility issues due to there being lots of steps etc - is this correct - as a relative of mine is thinking of coming with us and they have a visual impairment - also is the lighting (pathways, steps etc) good in the grounds of the hemera of an evening?
some of the rooms nearer reception have an incline to walk (ours did) but again you could take the lift . They are very accomodating at the hemera and I'm sure an email a couple of weeks in advance to request a suitable room would be all thats necessary . .

I can't spend much time on the site because I am so busy and only get the odd day here and there.
reading through Franks the issue with the air conditioning is one I dont see mentioned very often but I also went to reception about the issue of you not beng about to set it below 24% and the fact that it took the rooms ages to cool down when you returned in such high summer temps . I was also told that it was centrally controlled and there was nothing they could do other than give me a spare key to keep in the electrity which would keep the room cool . funnily enough after a few days this central control was turned off and we could set it at whatever temp we wanted to
If your reading this Frank I enjoyed your review and also found it somewhat soulless by Turkish standards but It's very difficult with a hotel that has everything and is extremely clean, and well maintained to fault it without sounding like you are moaning about small things if you get what I mean .
Intersting reviews.
to anyone who is famillar with the area around the hemera; could you tell me what the hospitals are like? A strange question i know but our daughter has just been diagnosed with a neurlogical problem. We've been told not to change any plans but to make sure we are no further than an hour away from a decent hospital just in case. thanks for any help given.
have replied on other thread... was staying at hemera when accident ocured.
a couple of days ago all of the hemera animation team where sacked on the same day ?????? . i havent heard of a reason for this yet has anyone else...
It;s a shame because an animation team can make or break a Turkish hotel and IMHO that lot broke it
I feel sorry for Ali the guy that did the shooting and archery because he generally looked liked he was enjoying his job and made the effort to say a good morning to guests .I dont feel he deserved to be put in the same basket as the rest of them but then i suppose they come as a package . He Always had a smile on his face .
davidstoncold - do you know if he had gone. The start of November is when most hotels cut back on all their staff..... For example, the Sunrise Queen team finish in december - bu the hotel is closing then.
Wonder what will happen, as Hemera still open!
Looks like this is true. My daughter has spoken to two of the animation team this week, they didn't mention being sacked but they are both at home. From what I gather they had a new team lined up beforehand. Have to agree with perfume about the entertainment manager,he should be the one to go. He made the others miserable by wanting things done his way or not at all. He has a strange sense of what entertainment actually is, I certainly wasn't entertained.
If he made them miserable then I'm not surprised they seemed so unenthusiatic but I wonder how many people who like me have complained about the animation team only for the Hemera to keep thinking a new team is what's needed when the issue really is with the manager.

Lyn, he was the one in control of the foam at the beach party. His wife was heavily pregnant in the summer, always walking round the pool with a pushchair.
Just spoke to the boys and they had a beer or 2/3 with one of the Mr Barut's ( The big cigar smoking one) . He told them they would be gone at the end of the season so looks like their fate was sealed quite early on .
