Thanks tootsie. I can be difficult to find the time when you just get back as there's usually laundry and other things to do, but reviews really are appreciated.

One niggling complaint about reviews. I note many people post as for example the Smith Family. Perhaps people could remember that we know them only by the user name. On occasions I have PMd a member who has said in the forums they have stayed at a particular place asking for information. All have always been of great help but without the user name we don't know who they are.

Just a thought.

I hasten to add that I have put numerous reviews on - just not the last few months - but I will rectify that.

Re what Frank (fwh) said - I can empathise with that becuase I have put reviews on in my "own" name so folk wouldnt necessarily know that it was "me" that posted it!

Will post as "Tootsie" from now on - but it does look a bit strange to be posting under "the Smith Family" and then you get one from "Tootsie and family"

I don't tend to read reviews until i get back because i think id rather get my own view first.Sometime curiousity gets the better of me though and i have the read!!! I like to read up on the general resort see what is or isnt around the resort.

Thanks for the suggestions and all the latest reviews....I'll certainly look at offering a drop down to sort reviews by hotel name, resort, avg rating etc... and also look at listing the number or reports per hotel on the front page of each region....

While the forums are a strong point on the site, they originally sprang up from hotel reviews. The site initially began as a review site but I received so many requests for info in place of a review that I set up the forums .....

Reviews, on any site have to be read with an open mind and, as someone has already said, a hotel may have good ratings but for the wrong reasons....EG, a family want a family orientated hotel and resort, a highly rated adult only hotel, although having great reviews, would not suit them.

As you all know HT is a great resource but it wouldn't be without the members who assist each other so much...If everyone pledged to tell at least 2 people about the site when on holiday, reviews could increase exponentially...word of mouth is always best.

I mention HT to everyone I meet on holiday, as well as people here in the UK, and often wonder how many of these, if any, are now lurking, or even posting, on here.

When anyone is unsure where to go or want to know more honest opinions of apt/hotels I always suggest they look on Holiday Truths. I have had some lovely holidays after reading reviews on this site.

Hi Van, I have not come across you before so - I think everyone is doing their bit to encourage everyone on here that uses the HT forum to post their Hotel reviews, its of benefit to all - I just think along with some other posters, that we need to get it noticed a bit more - what do you think?

Have the Hotel reviews increased Kath since we all made an extra effort to hightlight the fact that Hotel Reviews are so helpful.

Well. Started this thread at the beginning of Sept., hoping someone would do a review on the Riu Imperial Marhaba in PEK. The last review was in March and I am now wondering if we are going to an unpopular hotel as I know it is out a bit from the centre. As we leave on Wednesday, I would love to get some up to date info. Come on guys, don't be lazy. Please if any of you have been there since March, I'd love to hear it,warts and all
