never too early for a honybee silentman. but think all going through now so hopefully end of week and we will have a shiney new visa in our passports and can get on with making photo copies for indian sim card and a copy incase loss of passport and changeing money. can then sit back and relax
p.s.
then their is always the packing etc.etc.etc
Looks good, got text from dx 7.30am, delivery today
Arrived at VFS last Wednesday, Indian holiday last Thursday, so only 5 working days so far, but it seems like a lifetime!
mine should have been returned yesterday according to DX tracking and text "nothing"
Your item has reached the delivery office and is out for delivery.
We can confirm that your item left the delivery office this morning and should arrive shortly if it hasn't been delivered already.
Now I'm worried that it's too quick??????
I've checked again, and now it says it's not sent yet.
Got our passports with visa back at 1.15pm 24 hours late with delivery "had problems yesterday with courier" will not use the dx service again
Has anyone paid to have the SMS messages, if so, did it work? I paid to have messages for my application and I haven't heard yet and you are meant to receive 3.
I had a sleepless night as I thought it was too quick from it having been sent to the High Commission, but I picked the passports up this morning, both containing 6 month multiple entry visas.
I've checked the VFS tracking for my passport and it says:
Your application is processed and sent to the offices of the Indian High Commission in the UK for further assessment. Please check our website http://www.in.vfsglobal.co.uk for further information on 'Processing Times'.
I think one piece of advice I can offer, is, don't worry too much about the status on the website, they clearly don't update it very often.
Passports were signed for last Wednesday, and posted yesterday (Thursday). When you take in to account one Indian holiday and one weekend, that's only 6 working days. Quite impressive.
And now........................ relax.

Thats brill Mobor one im sure there will be a few drinks over the week end for you colleen
brill. mine should be here today or monday maybe. then i can relax as well
According to the VFS tracking my passport is still with the High Commission. It's nice that they offer the tracking service, but it would be even nicer if it was correct. It caused me stress when it didn't appear on the system until Monday, I was convinced my passports were lost.
Good luck to those of you still waiting, and those of you who are yet to apply. I will raise a glass to you this evening, and wish you luck.
Mine has changed from "record not found" to "Your visa application has been pre-checked and processed atApplication Center London-Hayes on 14-Oct-2011" movement at last but, wont rest until it's back in my hands !!!
We have that joy to come, have arranged to do them on Wednesday evening with my friend who has never done one before, hope we set her a good example. We have the bottle of wine already cooling for afters. Hope we get six months this time as we want to tour North India in April, last year we were given 3 months single entry for some strange reason so will be worrying all the way.
When it asked for occupation, nothing seemed to fit, so I put Worker. They seemed happy with that. Write down the list of countries you have been in the last 10 years, or at least list the ones stamped in your passport.
They will also ask for your previous visa number if you have one. I had trouble finding where to pay, but if I remember rightly, there were two option, "print application and "make an appointment". It's under the make an appointment area!!!
Thanks Mobor, I have made so many notes, hopefully I can't go wrong.
Good luck to everyone still waiting.

thanks mobor one. must be in luck. but mines showing exactly the same as yours. post office have tried to deliver today but as usual at work so will have to collect tomorrow morning but at least they are here. would have been nice if the vfs website had changed to tell me they were on way or that they had sent the sms messages that i had paid for. ( i wont be doing that again). no wonders we get stressed but 11 days is not bad seeing as there was an indian holiday and a weekend in that. so glad there back well will be tomorrow.
As far as numbers going this year, we've been applying for visas for more then 20 years now, always about this time, and this was the quietist I've ever seen it, both when taking in the forms and today when picking up the passports, hardly a soul around either visit. With the huge cut in charter flights, not surprising really.
Alan
Gramps, maybe like me, people who go scheduled flights have seen a massive leap in prices The last time I went in 2009 on a Kingfisher flight it cost £352, the cheapest Kingfisher flight I've been quoted for January to March 2012 is £660 Also, it maybe that a lot of people are just fed up with the visa application process and a lot are now going to Thailand etc!!
