Kingfisher are excellent I reccommend them, but it all depends on your timings, as you don't want to be hanging around airports for hours, so it is a matter, of the timings you need.
They are soposed to be starting to fly from the UK to Mumbai/Goa this is soposed to be starting in August, I would definitly fly with them, you are well looked after, plus there luggage allowance is 25 kilos.
I looked at their site just now and they don't have UK down in their schedules yet. I would imagine that with Jet Airways, as their Goa flight is timed to connect in Mumbai with their UK flight, then it would be more reliable. Hopefully the same would be said for Kingfisher
Just checked my insurance Lloyds TSB Gold and it would appear I am covered for delays and cancellations.
It looks like internal flights and prices may be in for some changes, just like everywhere else
In view of the last post I just bit the bullet and bought the flights with Jet. As I've already booked out of Mumbai at 7.00pm with Emirates and have hotels and transfers lined up in Dubai I reckon it's better to have my etickets for the Goa- Mumbai sector signed and sealed. Hopefully any slimming down will be done by the likes of Jetlite. Heres hoping the arrival in Mumbai at 2.45 pm will give us enough slack in view of any holdups Alan
Here is a breakdown of the prices.
2 Adult return fares Mumbai - Goa = 90 pounds
TOTAL TAXES SURCHARGES AND FEES
FUEL SURCHARGE = 113.20 POUNDS
PASSENGER SERVICE FEE = 11.60 POUNDS
TRAFFIC/AIR CONGESTION = 8.00 POUNDS
TOTAL PRICE = 222.80 POUNDS
I checked out kingfisher travelling the day before we are due to leave Mumbai for the UK (staying overnight in an hotel in Mumbai) and there prices were nearly 50 pounds dearer. Plus 50 pounds for an hotel room. Well at least they are booked now, but I will be keeping an eye on how much the prices will rising, when the new surcharges come into force. Jet accepted my Nationwide flexi account, which at least means I won't have to pay my bank for using my card abroad.

For anybody who has booked with Finnair and has booked or is about to book the Mumbai-Goa Domestic flights, be aware that Finnair have announced they are changing the scheduled departure time from Helsinki. The Finnair website is down at the moment and I cannot see the amended times.

It is possible that they have already introduced these changes as in october our flight to Mumbai leaves Helsinki at 20-05 but in january it leaves at 17-25, all the other flights are the same times. I have already booked the onward flights for the first trip so hope it doesn't change!!
I am trying to finalise our Golden Triangle trip and need to book our flights from/to Goa and Delhi. Go Air is coming up the cheapest. As anyone flown with this company, are they ok?
Yes, Go Air are fine. Their Delhi/Goa flight is not direct as it goes via Mumbai where you stay on board. I suppose this is why they are cheaper than Spice Jet or Indigo.
Thanks for the info Phil

PS loved your trip report, wish I was a bit younger and bit more daring! I have to stick to the short trips now but try to see as much of India as we can. 6 days out of our 3 weeks this time.
thanks brenliz but we are not young, cracking on a bit !!! I get shattered too!! and yes it is hard going when you are a bit older (aches and pains!) but well worth it although everyone we meet seems to be very young and probably think we are the oldest travellers on the planet!! well backpackers !! but thanks & glad you enjoying it
Certainly gone up in price but I booked now before any more fuel surcharges are added and have chosen the best flights to avoid hotels at Mumbai.
Reasons we book with Jet are,
One airline so if delayed it is down to that airline if connection missed.
Priority baggage x-ray at airports, at Mumbai Jet had there own X-ray machine no que and all other airlines used the other one, massive que.
Good connection times (3hrs between flight)
Excellent quality of flight.
You were right, Finnair have changed their flight times. We had an e-mail a few days ago. They have changed our october flights which are now the same times as our january flights. Unfortunately they also changed the day of the flight so sadly to connect with our already booked Mumbai-Goa flight we are having to have 3 extra days holiday and stop in Mumbai until the day of our Goa flight. SHOPPING!!!!!!!!
I appreciate that you may got a good price and may not wish to cancel your flight booking but as a matter of interest do they give you the option for a full refund.?
We are booked with Etihad and are also having 3 nights in Mumbai on the outward journey.
Dave
We had to change our Goa- mumbai flight the last holiday. It was actually quite cheap to do that. Have you tried that?
I don't know if they give a full refund but it doesn't really matter as we can be quite flexible with our travel dates, (the joys of semi-retirement!!) We flew with Etihad earlier this year, wonderful service, planes and food and lots of lovely leg room!!
Hi Fiona,
I have decided to look to see how much it would cost to change our flight after what you said but if I can't change it I won't mind as I love Mumbai so it would be no great hardship to stop there for 3 days. LOTS OF SHOPPING!!!!
Hi DaveC again,
Where are you staying in Mumbai? I have spent hours looking at different hotels. Have booked one that looks cheap and cheerful, not far from the airport on our return journey. I always like to try a different area each time we go.
We have booked the Residency Fort which is in the Fort area. It seemed to get good reviews and at £145:00 for 3 nights was a decent price for Mumbai.
