Just coming around to our next Thailand holiday in Khaolak just north of Phuket.
Two years ago spent a fortnight at the Royal Bangsak Hotel (Khaolak) using Tomson. What a fantastic
hotel and location. Will get around to writing and posting a full review soon. Alas the package we used is no longer available
so this time we have used Premier Travel and the RBS. Worth noting that if you are a Royalties Gold Account holder they will knock 10%
of your best price and do a very good deal on airport hotel and car parking !
Will be flying Singapore Air from Manchester and would appreciate any details on economy seating, service and stopovers (refueling etc)
Schedule is from Manchester to Singapore (changi) change for Phuket.
Have heard that it's still best to take Sterling and exchange locally at higher rates (except for Nationwide CC)is this still the case ?
Any recent reports on Khao Lak Resort Hotel would be great. We have been in contact via email and they have been very quick to respond
answering all our questions, however it's nice to get infor from an independant source.
Thanks all
I agree re taking sterling. You will get a better rate. I've also found that using my Amex credit card has been good as I get a really good exchange rate from them. I have noticed that over a few trips.
Thanks very much for the info on sterling exchange will purchase enough in the UK to cover a few days and look for the best rate on arrival.
Unfortunately the A380 doesn't fly out of Manchester so we arn't going to have that experience. It looks like a Boeing 777 but we still don't know if we will be stopping in the Emirates for refuelling . If anyone knows please advise.
We have noticed that the Singapore airline operates a "48hr booking in" service with seat selection and e-tickets which we think is amazing
We have approximately a 3hr stop over in Singapore before flying onto Phuket and by the links you sent it may be just enough time for Yiasmin to enjoy a little window shopping ! yeah right !!!!
Noticed on one of the links you sent (from 2006) that drinks are included on Singapore Airlines, is that for real ?? Not that we are drinkers but it could make the long haul a little more enjoyable !!!
All food and drink and ample quantities of it are free!
Khao Lak is very beautiful. Don't know your hotel, but you'll have a fab time.
Will post a resort report on our return. Viewed the hotel 2 years ago when we were last their and it looks the biz ! Some 4 weeks earlier on this trip so expect a little more unsettled weather with it being mid October. We have heard that the wet season came about 4 weeks early this year so we are hoping that it finishes 4 weeks early ! Thanks also for the flight info, our last trip took a stop in "Al Ain" which we couldnt confirm prior to our departure. It all helps when you are getting you head around a long trip.
