we came back yesterday :cry from Kalamaki and was spending between 25 and 40 euro's for an evening meal (pitta's, 2 main course's, 2 kids meals and 2 soft drinks and a bottle of wine/4 pints of mythos). We did make the mistake on the 1st night of ordering Tzatziki with pitta's and got extra pitta's too (which seems to be the norm unless you send them back) plus 3 main course's which cost us 50euro's. Drinks are between 2-3 euro's a pint for Mythos/Amstel and offers all over for cocktails.

thanks for that, prices still pretty much same as previous years then :)

If I remember right, evening meal (2 adults 1 child) about 25-30 euros, mythos 2.50-3.00 for 500ml so we should be ok

One other question about Kos town, is the Casa Romana open again now, it seemed to be closed a lot longer than estimates allowed for

Hi I went to Tingaki 2 years ago in Kos and we stayed at the Sunny Days apts. Very basic but plenty of space. There were 6 of us, 3 ads, 3 kids. We booked 2, 1 bedroom apts which we got right next to each other.

We used the public transport to get into Kos Town which was very frequent & cheap. Lots of lovely restaurants in Tingaki but would say prices were more or less same as here in Britain.

Hoping to go back next year. Off to Spain this summer.

Mozzie's are very dependant on what ever Rain they have had about a week or two before.
If you are staying in a more rural part of Kos then there can be more around due to water troffs for animals etc.
Saying that they have never been a great problem if you take the righ precautions in what you use to guard against them and what you where in the evenings,

Thanks swerve2009 - hadn't made the connection with rain so that's a helpful thing to know. I am wondering if we need to have the mossie cream handy for the transfer from the airport at 9.00pm. Don't know if they hang out there (getting dark at that time) - guess it depends, like you said, on whether it's been raining...

By all means use a cream, but don't worry the need not be a major problem.
Another thing folk do when going out for the evening is before they go, spray the room, when you come back you will be mozzie free.
Boots do a spray which contains Deet, but read the label.
It is supposed to be appled to clothes, just a bit here and there.
Some put it on the skin and it can cause irritation problems.
Another thing folk make a mistake of is leaving the Bathroom window open, in the evening, Don't/
Mozzies migrate to water to breed, close thewindow after a shower and potential problems are less likely.

Like I said Mozzies need not be an major issue, and you won't get bitten at the airport during transfers.

Swerve2009 - thanks for additional helpful info. Not been to Kefalos yet - only Tingaki and Kos Town. A short 6 day trip this time - to hang out and chill with picnics at the castle, the Asklepion etc. Also hoping to take the hydrofoil to Patmos as its so gorgeous there. But maybe we'll do Kefalos another year...

Hi
Off to Tingaki middle of August, fancy going to Bubble(Paradise) Beach. Does anyone know the best way to get there from Tingaki..dont mind trying public transport or is it too far away.Looking at the map of Kos,Tingaki is at top of island and Kefalos ( where I think the beach is) is at the bottom.
Thanks M

The bus from Kos town to Kefalos stops in the car park above paradise beach. The majority of buses between Kefalos and Kos Town run via Antimachia and Mastihari.

Just returned from Kardamena, weather great mid 30s a bit of a welcome breeze begining of week.A lot quieter than previous Septembers, noticable at airport on return you could, get a seat in departures. A few places shut down or have changed their buisness, veg shop to cloths
Exchange rate in resort not good 113 at end of this week.
